Upcoming trip end Oct/beg Nov, flying into MCO on 10/30 staying at Pop Century thru 11/3, then driving to Sanibel and flying back from RSW (Ft Myers). Only need compact car as myself DS 15yo and DD 12yo.

Original plan was to rent car on morning of Sun 11/2 to do Universal that day, check out of PC Mon 11/3 for drive to Sanibel, then

return car at RSW airport on 11/6 to fly back home.

Haven't called the CCC yet, but have read they use Alamo and Thrifty. My question is:

- do they bring car to your resort or do you have to take shuttle somewhere to pick it up?

- wondering if rates any better if I get the car right at MCO airport when we arrive? Although plan on using Disney transport and won't really need it until our 4th day for Universal?

Thoughts?

Renting from CCC is easy-peasy. National & Alamo are the 2 agencies that are located there. They will pick you up at either your resort or any of the parks. Take you to the CCC and you simply go in, do the paper work and get your car. As to the price difference, I have no idea because i love the convenience of using ME to get from MCO without having to pay tolls :thumbsup2. You can find discount codes posted on the Mousesaver site. I have never had any trouble with renting from there!!

I would say this is your best option if you don't plan on using the car until you head to Universal.

I'm a little obsessive about getting my rental car as cheap as can be, and the usual pattern is that the airport is more expensive when you are booking far in advance, but when near-term discounts come out (like 10-21 days before your trip) the airport gets much less expensive. You can often keep a car for an entire week for the price of 2 or 3 days picking it up or dropping it of on WDW property.

I usually book both options a prices I'm comfortable with, then keep close track of discounts as my trip is approaching and cancel the unused reservations. Doing this, I haven't rented anywhere other than the airport the past 6 or so years.
