My apologies if this is a silly question.

We just booked our trip for next month - woo hoo!!

Since this is last minute, the airfares are extremely high.

We are thinking of renting a car here at home and driving down to Disney.

Both our cars have over 100,000 miles on them and we don't know if we want to take them down.

Previously, we have rented cars once we were at our destination and just drove around town, but never rented one to drive a great distance to the vacation site.

We are wondering if the rental companies allow you to take the rental car on an extreme road trip like this (round trip its about 2,500 miles and obviously through several states) down to DW site and back.

Do they care? Is it prohibited? Are their extra costs or insurance we would need to buy? We would obviously want to get unlimited mileage option.

Thank you.

I rent a minivan in New Hampshire & drive to WDW. Last year I used National, unlimited miles & no state restrictions. This year I am using Alamo - same thing, unlimited miles & no state restrictions. Just take a look on thier sites under rental agreements, etc of the company you want to choose. Some of the other larger comapanies do have restrictions, so read carefully.

I use my Disney Visa - That covers the insurance. It generally is a Visa perk.
