I called my insurance agent (Allstate) today just to double check that my auto insurance would cover me in a rental car. She said everything would be covered except any fees the rental car agency would charge for the car being out of service (if I were to have an accident). She said some rental car companies charge this fee. How do I find out which ones? Has anyone heard of this or know anything about it? We were going to rent through National and only for 1 day. Do you think I'd need to get the insurance National offers than? Or just skip it? How much would they charge for the car being out of service? (What's the chances I'd even have to worry about this anyway? I know, I'm a worrywort!) Can anyone help me?
I'm completely new at this and confused! Thanks!
