car rental help please??

This is not WDW related but I hope I can get some help. I am flying into Orlando on Easter Monday. Work constraints prevent driving. This is an unexpected trip as my mother is ill. I know this is a bad week to rent a car. Does anyone have any tips for me to get the best deal? I am already stressed over my mom and can use any help to make my trip as easy as possible. She lives near the Villages by Ocala so having my own transportation is a must. Thank you

You can join what they call Emerald Club through the Mousesavers link: http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html

Look for the link that says "Turner Travel" (use to be Priceless)



If you use this link signup to Emerald Club is free. When you reserve your car through National you will log on with your acct number. This will allow you to bypass the counter and go directly to your car.

There are also other codes for National and other cars on Mousesavers. You will have to try different combinations/different companies to get the best $. Good luck.

I got a great rate on the big travel sites. $120 for 6 days Mid size car.
Orbitz
Travelocity
I also got a great rate using my National Car Emerald Club Card, $138 for week.
The rate off the travel web sites were cheaper but they were for rental agencies off the airport.(You take a shuttle from airport to car place)
The National was $20 more but it is right at the airport so I went with that.
These rates were for 2nd week in April and I just booked the National rate last week.

Thanks everyone. So far Budget comes in at the best price for $192 vrs $261 for National with the Emerald membership (just joined!). I am still looking. This will be a hard week (March 28 to April 2) as it is right after Easter.
