Car rental help - PHX to BUR

I am looking to rent a minivan from April 14 at PHX and return on April 23 at BUR. The cheapest I can find is $1400

Has anyone rented any cheaper from Phoeni to California? I have looked at Hertz, National and Enterprise and used Entertainment codes.

You're always going to pay more for one-way rentals. I have a friend who often rents one-way from SoCal to Oregon and frequently will pay almost $200 for a one-way rental for one day.

LOL...after looking at this thread, I keep seeing ads on my sidebars and banners for rental cars! Maybe that link will help....it says $25 off one way rental.

You can also try Hotwire. They often have had the best prices for me. Just know that they charge you up front and you can't modify or cancel them.

You can also try toggling your dates; it sounds like maybe you are flying into Phoenix and then driving to see the Grand Canyon on the way to Disneyland? Maybe you can return the car somewhere around Disneyland a few days prior to your flight out of Burbank, then using a shuttle to the airport?

I think there are a few things working against you. The first is that April is still our high tourist season and the rental places don't want those minivans going out of state. The second is that it's a minivan. They are hard to get around here in the first place.

It looks like you can save $300 by renting from Alamo and returning it to LAX instead of BUR. If you can get an inexpensive transfer it might be worth it (especially if you drop your party at BUR and just one person does the transfer). You could also rent from FOX for cheap, but I don't know anything about them.
