Car rental for Nov, will prices go down?

I could have got a midsize for $170 for 9 days in Nov about 2 weeks ago, could have got a SUV for $199 last week and now I'm completely kicking myself I didn't get either one!!! Now prices for my time period (Nov 13-22) are almost double. What are the chances they will come down? I haven't been watching car rental prices like I have airfare.

There is always a possibility they will go down even if its just for the day. Keep checking every single day. I got a SUV for $189 fro the end of Sept thru Alamo and the week before it was up to over $300 then I saw the price went down I booked it and now its back up to over $300. But I am going to keep checking b/c I have a feeling the prices will come back down again real soon.

Sometimes you just get lucky. We're going Nov 9th, and a few weeks ago the rate dropped by about $ 50, and the next day popped back up again. It's dropped some again, but it seems every other day the rate is changed. I've made and cancelled about 5 ressies already, each time it goes down. Good luck and just keep checking.
