Flying down in December. I really don't want a full-size van because it is very expensive and difficult to park at WDW. Does anyone know of any other rental vehicle that will hold 4 adults and 4 kids? I have found an Astro van through L & M that will hold 8 but I'm concerned that it really won't. Hopefully someone here has had experience with an astro van through L & M. The rest of the family doesn't want to drive so it's left to me. Thanks

We had an astro van from National 2 or 3 years ago. It may hold 8 passengers, but you will have a problem with luggage. We were barely able to fit 4 adults and 2 kids and the luggage.

My advice is to consider 2 full size vehicles if you hve more than one driver. Or if you are staying on site, consider taking advanatage of the free Magical Express Program to move yourselves and your luggage between MCO and WDW.

Best wishes -

That's my problem with a van, I don't know if it will hold all the luggage. We are staying in a vacation home. We will probably just do two cars.

maybe a full size SUV like an Expedition or Suburban? I believe they hold 8, but I have no experience with the trunk size.

I have an Expedition and it only has seven seat belts, but you can squeeze a third person into the third row! It's not going to be very safe though, so I wouldn't recommend it! :guilty:

alecam ~ do you hav an older model Expedition? Budget has them listed as their full size SUV's and it says 8 passenger. I also checked on Ford.com and it also says 8 passenger (I have been looking into buying a new car lately)

Anyway ~ to get back to the OP ~ Budget has full size SUV's listed as Expeditions, if that's an option for you, but just to be sure of the seating capacity it would probably be best to call the agency to double check. HTH

Yep, mine is a 1998! I guess maybe they probably did put a third seat belt in the third row by now  !! :bitelip:

Another idea would be to rent from Avis. They have nice Suburbans with PLENTY of trunk space!! Just another idea!

We are having the same problem. There is 7 of us in our party 4 adults and 3 children. If we rent 2 vehicles then we all can't ride together :( and then you have to pay twice to park. We are renting a house as well. Is it really that packed? Your only going from the airport to the rental home and back with it so packed with luggage. Is the expedition more than mini van? Thanks for all the information and for posting this topic I almost booked the mini van but now I will research it more. :flower:

We got a chevy venture van from Alamo our last trip and it was an 8 passenger van, we had to squeeze the luggage to and from the airport but it was fine for 8 passengers.

I tried Alamo and Budget and the largest capacity vehicle they have other than a full size van has a seven person limit. I won't put more people in the vehicle than there are seatbelts (look at my user name). Am I missing something with Alamo and Budget? It says the expeditions hold 7. Edited- Avis doesn't list Suburbans as being available at MCO

I don't blame you for not wanting to squish in an extra person than available seatbelts...I'm the same way. I checked on Budget's site and where they list the types of vehicles they have, it says Expedition's accomodate 5 - 8, but further down on that page it says "seats 8" and the newer model Expeditions do seat 8. Did you try calling them directly to ask?
