Car Rental Deals from Long Beach Airport?

Can anyone help me find a car rental deal from Long Beach Airport? It seems like they are so much more expensive than LAX, but that is where we are flying into when DH goes to California for business. We are going to DL for a few days before he has meetings and then I will fly home but he still wants a car. We are looking for an 8-day rental Aug 4-11 pick up and drop off at LGB.

Does anyone have codes or coupons that will save us? We are hoping to get a mid-size for less than $20/day. Is that unrealistic?

We got a intermediate for $25 a day including all fees & taxes at mypoints.com, for 5 days. The weekly rate was $115. The company is a local Co. with several branches - Rent4Less. The price though mypoints.com was less than going directly through Rent4Less.

We have had good luck getting deals from Alamo.com Look at "hot deals". You can usually reserve at those prices until a week or so before your trip, but its worth the wait. And, if you are the nervous type you can reserve a regular reservation then cancel if the hot deal comes in cheaper. You dont have to pay at the time of reservation. If you are going over a weekend, use code D60C for $10 off.
