I don't know why I am making this so difficult on myself...but I am going nuts  about our car rental in October. :car: I have booked with Alamo for $364.96/total for 11 days...but I want to go lower! I used the Walmart code and another coupon for $25 off. I check the rates daily and the prices have actually gone up to around $402/total for the same thing!

I saw another poster say she had booked TWO reservations and got a really low rate doing this. How does this work? Did you have to return to the car lot or did they just leave them as back to back rentals! This is probably very simple and I'm just making it tough... :sad2:

Thanks for any advice! :thanks:

Alamo is notorious for being sticklers about complying with the provisions of your reservation, to the letter, so I wouldn't be surprised if they make you check back in at the Alamo counter at the airport if you make your reservations that way.

In December 2004 we rented from Thrifty (2 one week rentals). The special price was only valid for max 10 days. So yes, we had to go back to MCO at the end of 7 days and renturn our first rental, pick up our second for the additional 7 days.
But for $79 per week it was well worth it.

You could also price out picking up the car at MCO and returning it to the Car Care Center, then picking up the new rental at the Car Care Center at the same time and returning it to MCO. A car rental week is considered five to seven days, so you could rent one car for six days and one for five.
Also check the rate for using the Dolphin as your mid-vacation return/rental location.

This is an excellent method. I used this for a trip to Hilton Head Island. I was checking prices for 7 day rentals roundtrip from Savannah Airport. I couldnt find anything under $300. So, I got curious and played with the numbers. I found I could rent a Minivan for 1 day (from Savannah to Hilton Head) and drop it off the next morning at the Hilton Head Airport for $49. From there, I picked up another Minivan out the door for $121!!!

Just mess with the numbers, play the system and you should be able to find a good deal. You are still a ways out, usually car rentals don't change alot until around 2 mths prior to pick up....
