We are trying to put together a family vacation for next spring and because of various complications we are considering renting a vehicle for one leg for the trip.

We have never rented a one way before and only a return to origination rental once so this is new to us.

We need something big enough for 6 full size people and probably need it for a week. Drop off point needs to be near Disney World.

We plan on flying back to Ohio.

Can someone point me in the right direction to start researching this and give me the pros of cons and ins andout of renting a vehicle.

Of course the budget is important. :rotfl2:

Thanks :cool1:

If you are doing a one way rental there is probably going to be a hefty one way dropoff fee.

Just go to any rental sight (dollar, nat.) when you do your ressie put in where you are leaving from and where you wish to drop (WDW TC or some places around DTD hotels DOLLAR) this will give you the price .

Yikes I did that and the one way drop off fee is more than the cost of the week long rental! Is that correct?

I figured the local non-national companies would charge that but a national company. Man that really kills the budget.

Is there any way around this fee or any companies that do not charge it? :confused3

There is really no way around it. All you can do is search the car rental companies to see which one may not charge the additional fee for a one way rental.

Thanks for the input. I just had no idea it woudl cost so much to drive a one way rental.

This is so frustrating becasue the trip is not coming together like I want! :rotfl2:

Oh well I will keep searching.

if anyone out there has ever done a one way rental and not had to pay this high fee please let me know the name of the company.

Hertz usually does not have dropoff fees. :flower:

I use Hertz all the time. What you will find is the one way rate is higher than the rate for a pickup and dropoff at the same location (this a round trip rental).

Thanks I will check them out today. I was just shocked at the fees. :rotfl:

Naive I guess but I had no idea that one ways were so much! :confused3
