Which company is most convenient? Cost effective?

I've used Avis before so I know the routine there... I'm just curious about what my options are. This last trip I used Mears and it was just fine, and I'm toying with the idea of a rental car to allow for a bit more freedom. I might look at towncar service with a grocery stop, etc...

We use Hertz. Sign up for their #1 Express club. We waited no more than a minute on the bus and were at the lot in 5 mins driving away in our car. It is every bit as convenient as renting on site.

Also liked the fact that the type of car I needed was available at Hertz instead of wandering the Emerald Aisle for National trying to find something for us.

We have gotten some good deals via Priceline. You can specify an MCO location...we've done it three times and have gotten Avis once and Alamo twice. Be sure to shop around first so you know the best price and can bid lower.

I do'nt like to rent from anyone taht I have to take a shuttle bus to get to. Double baggage handling. I don't want to have to load the bags onto a bus, then off, then into the car.

To each his own. It makes no difference to us since we use a cart to the shuttle then when returning we do curbside check in. Very easy, very fast. At the Hertz lot I am dropped off right by my car. It only takes 5 minutes. I am in a hurry like everyone else but I don't feel 5 minutes is too long.
