car rental at Disney

we're going for 10 days in August and staying at POR. My DD thinks we might get bored and she really wants to go to the outlets. I know Disney has car rental onsite. Does anyone know what company it is and if you can get a good deal? we'd only want it for one day. I don't want to do it if it's a budget breaker, we're already spending enough staying onsite

Alamo and national are out of the Car Care Center, and the same two are out of either the Swan or Dolphin.

I've generally found that a same day, one day, rental is about $50 but anything could change.

Also, if you're just looking to go to one location, check out the cost for a cab instead. Might be cheaper than a rental!

I want to say that a one day rental, with taxes and fees (from Alamo at the Car care center) was $58 a few years ago.

I feel like discounts for that location were hard to come by. But they pick you up at the resort and take you back (call the night before for pick up time).

We like Alamo but have used Dollar as well. Lately Dollar has had better deals with AAA. Alamo no longer has AAA discounts. Do register for their programs to get better rates. We ALWAYS get a car as we like to eat off site as well. We enjoy Sweet Tomatoes, Orlando Ale House, Celebration Town Tavern and more. Rates vary and it's hit/miss. Just keep checking for rates. No down payment is necessary and I always hold a good rate when I find one and then keep checking. If the rate goes down they'll adjust it for you. Good Luck in your decision.
