Car Rental - a tip for everyone and a ? for someone

First my tip to everyone who goes the route of 1 day rental, to get you to your hotel and a one day rental to get you back to the aiport. When we were booking last week our first rental from MCO to Dolphin was 30 dollars with all of the fees, not to bad. So when we worked from Dolphin to MCO it was almost 58 dollars. I wanted the car for a Thursday night to get it packed for the trip back on Friday. Well I thought hey lets pick it up Friday morning and lo and behold it came up the 30 dollars again. So always triy to experiment with your days.
Now my question I am a emerald member for National has anyone gone the route to avoid the counter and how was it? And what do you need to do to get this? Thanks

If you rent a midsize car you can go directly to the Emerald Aisle in the National section. They will have midsize and larger cars in those lanes. The keys are in the cars. You just pick out the car you want, any car, any size and drive it to the gate. Hand them your paperwork reservation and you're on your way! I was a bit nervous the first time we did this, but it really is very easy. And there will be workers there if you need to ask questions.
