So I see that parking a car at DIsneyland is $15/day.

Is it $15 regardless of what time you come in the day, for example is it $15 even if you came say 5 p.m.?

Also, is it preferrable to drive and park at disneyland, or take a shuttle from the hotel. We do plan on going back during the day for naps. Wondering if the car is more of a hassle, and still have to walk a ways.

Thanks for any help!

Price is the same regardless, but you get in and out privileges if you save your receipt.

Where are you staying? If it's somewhere within walking distance or with a free or cheap shuttle, I'd go that route. The parking lots aren't horribly inconvenient, but if you have other options I'd use them.

If you come in late enough, that is, if you're not going to spend a lot of time at the parks, you might want to try parking at Downtown Disney. First 3 hours are free. And you get 2 more hours with validation; e.g., if you eat at one of the restaurants. So if you're going to be around for less than 5 hours and want to eat in DTD, you can get free parking.

Otherwise, parking in the Mickey structure or any of the lots is $15, whether you're there all day or for 10 minutes.

When we went years ago we stayed at the Shariton (spelling?) and took the shuttle. I dont know if it cost anything, or if the price was included in the package (DH did all the planning). We went back to the hotel in the afternoon a couple of times and it was no hassle. I think it ran ever 15ish minutes. We did walk one day just because a shuttle had just left and we didn't want to wait, it wasnt bad.

I don't know what time they start this, but when I've gone in the evening parking was free. This has happened several times for me.

hey Mary Jo....when you have done this, are you talking about parking in the parking lots or parking in DTD??? Also, around what times do you do this?

I've gone around 6pm to the Mickey and Friends parking structure, and the teller machines were not manned. We just drove to the parking stall. They did still have the way marked off so we went to a particular level.

I've done this maybe three times or so, and as recently as this year.

Does this depend on season or day? I've seen the same but it was a weekday and not a busy time like Summer and it was after dinner so probably 7pm maybe 9pm when I arrived.

This has happened to me before, but usually during slower times at both DTD and Mickey and Friends. I don't really know if I could say with any certainty when they will stop charging, but on days when the parks close at 8 or 9pm, I have entered at 5:30pm and no one was there to collect any money.

I would be prepared to spend the money and be happy if they didn't collect. :wizard:

I agree with this.

I never paid attention to the time the park closed. I just remember noticing that there was no charge for parking.

thanks for the info

I called our hotel, and they are about 1 mile away, they said around a 15 minute walk, which might be do-able for us, though we will also be going back for naps and then returning.

Also the shuttle for us would be just $9 for me and my husband each, for three days, our children free because of age.

So, I think we will not park and pay.
