Car parking while park hopping

We will be spending one day at WDW with hopper passes. I would like to start at AK then go to MK.
Would we be better off parking at MK then use the park transportaion to go to AK and then back to MK in time for the parade (by 2pm). My fear of driving to both is ending up in the back of the lot at MK and taking a 1/2 hour to get to the park.
Looking for your suggestions on how to play this out.

October 2000 - POR
June 2003 - HRH (USO/IOA)
June 2004 - RPR (USO/IOA) Not soon enough !pirate:

Whether you drive from AK to MK or take park transportation from AK to MK I think you end up at the TTC first...so if this is correct--my advice is drive to AK, then drive to MK...or drive from AK to the AKL and take the disney resort transport to MK which would skip the TTC...or if time is more important to you than money...drive to AK then drive to the Contemporary and valet park there and walk to MK...

Can you park at other resorts when you are not staying there and use "their" transportation?

We tried that when we were there before. We parked at the Contemporary, but they give you a "time" pass for you car, it was 4 hours or something. FYI...

My advise would be to drive to both parks. The transportation between MK<-->AK is not direct, as PKS44 stated. You will spend a lot of time "commuting" in order to get both parks in on the same day.

Why not start at MK and stay until after the parade and then head over to AK? There are some nights in June when the AK will be open until 7 or 8 pm. I'm sure that it will be less crowded and cooler at that time and you won't be rushing to get out of there in order to make a 2pm parade at MK.

Thanks to all so far for your suggestions. I thought the "hub" would come into play for the ride from AK to MK.
Let's add to my original question by asking what experiences you had parking at MK when arriving in the early afternoon.
Will they let you into parking areas that were full but now people have left for what ever reason thus opening up spaces. Or do they continue to send cars to the last opened area. Seeing that the park is open to 11pm the day we plan I would not look forward to that long trek back to the furthest lots even with the tram ride.

Thanks !:wave2:

Yes, you can fill in the open parking spaces in the afternoon that have been vacated by the early morning guests.

They may try and direct you to the row they are filling - just let them know with tact that you are going to check towards the front of the lot for an empty space

thanks
