Does anyone know of a good meet @ driveaway parking service at Gatwick.

We have used executive parking in the past who have been cheap but a bit hit & miss ie 25 mins to return the car when we arrived back.

Thanks.

We used Tudor Rose this Easter.

You drive to their base which is 2 mins from the terminal and they drive your car, with you inside to the terminal.
You phone when you have your cases and have gone through customs and within minutes they are waiting at the place they dropped you off.

The service was fantastic and cheaper than other places. The guys who drive your car are mature and careful drivers. We'd definately use them again.
It cost us £62 for 15 days.

silverka - this is probably a silly question, but did that £62 include both the valet service and the parking, or was it just for the valet and you had to pay the car parking charges separately?

As you said it was for 15 days, it sounds as though it is for the whole service, which seems really good value to me.

Seems a good price, although they do say that at busy times they can't guarantee that they will be able to deliver your car back to Gatwick and you might be collected in their courtesy bus. If you pay an additional £2.50 per day they do guarantee to deliver your car to the airport, regardless of how busy it is.

Thanks for the link silvaka.

Regards

Hilary, yes it does include valet delivery of the car to and from the airport (although they also offer car valeting services, i.e. cleaning of your car, so be careful of what youy ask for!).

Ok Rob, thanks! ;)

Thanks for the replies.

We did use Tudor Rose a couple of times but the last time we had to wait ages and the car came back covered in mud as if it had been parked in a building site for 2 weeks.

It does seem cheap though so maybe we will give them another go.

Last week I searched for parking at Gatwick and got prices for 2 weeks ranging from £85 to £110, the cheaper being off site approx 6 miles from Gatwick.
By chance I looked in our local paper (Watford) and spotted an advert from a local company and for £106 return we will be taken to and from Gatwick in a Cadillac (I hope it's not pink). Kids don't know yet, so a nice surprise for them tomorrow morning.
So, no driving, no fuel and door to door service. Took me all of 1 second to decide.

hi chris:wave:

The price we paid was just for car parking and them taking us to and collecting us from Gatwick.
The cars are parked close together in a compound and moved in rotation.
Our car was as clean as when we left it and no problems with mud. Maybe the weather had been bad while you were away.
We would use them again!!

Can't add much about alternatives to the discussion (will likely try Tudor Rose next time), but just a quick comment about Executive Parking on our last trip:

Booked everything via the 'net about a month before travelling and the company then called a couple of days later to take credit card details and confirm everything.

Turned up at Gatwick on the day and no meeter (greeter?) to be found. Called the company and they had no record of the booking (even though my card had been already been debited - i'd checked). A driver finally arrived about 20 mins later after i'd been moved on once and had to do a circuit of the airport :(

As if this wasn't bad enough they then demanded my credit card details again on the return leg before they'd release the car, and only confirmed they wouldn't make a second charge on it after i'd faxed them a copy of my card statement the following day.

This might all be an isolated incident, but their customer service left a lot to be desired. Beware Executive Parking!

I have only ever used to valet parking companies since I decided to try and valet parking company back in 2003. First of all I tried tudor rose who were very good and then I tried ABC Gatwick. The only reason I used ABC Gatwick is because I tried to book with Tudor Rose but had difficulty accessing their website. To be honest I was impressed with both companies and would consider booking with either of them in the future.

Hello :)

In September me and my BF used Meteor Meet and Greet.

They were at the terminal when we arrived (we had to ring 10 mins before we were going to be there) and were at the terminal when we arrive back (we had to collect our cases and then ring) we literally only had time to go through arrivals and grab and coffee to go and they were there. The car was fine, a little bird poo on it so it was probably parked under a tree but no extra miles than expec

I think we paid around £51, although I think we may have used a rate that someone posted on here.

Hope you find something good and enjoy your magical holiday :wizard:

The cost of the 'official' Gatwick Parking has more than DOUBLED in price in the past year.

Last November, two weeks at the Long Stay cost me £59. This year, they were quoting £130 for the same dates, same car, same car park. I suppose the new owners have got to make their money somehow following their purchase from BAA, but not from me. I'll go elsewhere from now on!

Another vote for Meteor Meet and Greet - we were very pleased with the service in October and have booked them again for this year.
