We are staying at CBR and we have rented a car.
My question is should we use the car to get to the parks or should we take the Disney transportation?
I have heard that parking can be a fair distance from the parks but i have also read that the bus system is slow. We decided to rent a car at the airport because we want to be able to get from resort to restort fast.
With time in mind which would you recomment for all areas of disney.

Driving your own car from resort to resort is a must. Going to the parks is up for debate. The way I see it is taking the bus for the most part is easier. Unless you know a few tricks that we are not allowed to talk about here ;) If you take your car to a park you may get out of your resort quicker than the bus. But when you get to the park it may take a while to actually get up to the entrance. If you take the bus you are pretty much let out right at the entrance. I like to let them drive. After all I am on vacation :)

We tried our own car to get to the parks and Hated it! What really got to us was sitting in line at MK and watching 6 busses go by. After that day, we rode the bus. We went in June and never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus from ASMusic and at the most 20 minutes when the parks closed, but that was because we let a few families with "crazy" kids get on the bus before us and we chose to wait for the next one.

You will get many responses on both sides of this issue. I do not rent a car and prefer to let Disney transportation take us anywhere we want to go. I agree that going from resort to resort is tough using Disney transit. I always recommend people plan to be at a theme park and go from there to another Disney resort. For example, from the MK it is really easy to visit the CR, Poly, GF, WL and FW. From Epcot and the Studios it is very easy to get to the Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht clubs, and Swan/Dolphin.
Personally I look forward to my Disney vacation so I don't have to drive. Let me add that driving to the Magic Kingdom never makes sense for anyone staying on Disney property. You will have to park at the TTC and possibly take the tram (depending on how far you are) to the monorail or boat. Quite a hassle when you consider that the Disney bus will drop you off right at the Magic Kingdom entrance.

We use Dsney transportation almost exclusively. I say almost, becasue on our last kid-less trip we did some resort hopping and that was infinitely easier with our own car. But we never drive to the parks. It's an 8hr drive to WDW for us. We like to park the car and leave the driving to them.
