I've already booked my car insurance through Virgin at about £350 for 14 days and not travelling til 24 August so not yet paid the balance. Have since seen www.worldwideinsure.com for £119.70. Do you think I can cancel my insurance with virgin and change it without charge?

and is worldwide insurance ok to use - i get scared about insurance and USA, incase i'm not fully insured!!!!

I know i could just phone virgin but wanted to check it out with you lot first!!

Hi

I'm in the same boat having booked with Virgin. I've had a quick look at Worldwide Insurance and it does seem a good price. But the Virign Insurance does cover State Taxes, Airport Fees, Handling and assorted other odds and ends.

From a quick calculation, I reckon at least another $130 need to be accounted for in taxes and handling. It will probably still be cheaper than Virgin, but you need to look carefully at what will be added on by Dollar when you pick the car up.
