we have a 8 seater car for hire in April 08, not sure what car it is as not seen a pic :-( but it's with suncar hire (through our travel agent) at MCO... are they any good ?

Suncars are a broker and not an actual car hire company so it depends who they have booked you with as to the type of vehicle supplied.

Claire ;)

oh well learn something new everyday :-) so it will be pot luck who they give us then :-) and what car they give us, just was curious as what an 8 seater minvan looked like :-) and after seeing other post if it was worth seeing if they had an express card thing we could sign up with to save time at the airport

Thx

I believe they use Dollar but you need to confirm with them. Hope you got a good deal as they are a very expensive company, just compared a full size car with their price against Airnet for 2 weeks over £100 more expensive:scared1:

we paid £528 for 2 weeks in april 08 for our 8 seater with suncars :-)

Probably nothing you can do about it now but in future book elsewhere, 8 seater with Airline Network/Dollar would be £340 or £377 with additional drivers and full tank of gas. Airnet are not always the cheapest either.
I believe luggage space is very limited in these 8 seaters, airnet says seats 8 but only 2 suitcases:scared1:

luggage is our main concern, travel agent said it would be fine with 7 people and 7 cases !!! looking at air net it dont look like it ..... but it's all booked and paid for :( cases between legs by the looks of it lol

This is a Ford E350 which Dollar have used in the past, we were parked behind one last year at the airport.

dont look a bad size ... gonna contact travel agents and see what they say again and also suncars etc etc and make sure it ok for 7 people and 7 case + hand cases

Last year our family had one of these vans and they managed to get 6 cases if I remember correctly, the boot is quite large so im sure you could put them ontop of each other also.

cool thx for that, was starting to worry when the site said 2 cases :-)

Oh yeah just noticed that is say's 2!!!

No way it does it fit 2. You will prob get 7 in at a push, plus you got the extra seat.
Now if you had the 7 seater van these have a tiny boot and struggle to get 3 in.

I can't really believe a rental company would supply a 8 seater with only room for 2 cases, they know every UK taveller will have at least 1 case sometimes 2. I hope the 2 cases Airnet quote is a mistake.

Ah yes, but the majority of their renters may be from the US not the UK. ??

If you put all the seats up in a Grand Voyager, there aint much room for cases

i may be wrong but 8 seater vehicles in the uk have next to nothing in the way of luggage space last year we hired on then upgraded to the 15 seater and used the last row of seats for luggage.

hope this helps

i dont mind upgrading if i had altered my group going, but the travel agent should give me a size to match my group + cases. How much was the upgrade ? and was this at MCO as well ? thk for the info

Mind you Mike, many Travel agents/package holidays only ever give you the smallest car available anyway, so a couple can end up in a sub compact car with no room whatsoever for their cases

after checking with paper work our invoice for the hire car says it's a 8 seater minivan with a/c nothing else :( not very helpfull ... think just to put my mind at reast i will ring suncars (as travel agent was not sure what car it wouldbe only that it will have 8 seats !!!!!! )

note to self, next time book the car myself lol
