Does anyone have any experience booking just car hire through virgin Holidays and if so is there any feedback you can give? They are currently coming out as one of the cheaper options to book alamo gold cover for our trip in September so I'm looking at that as the best booking option but just want a bit of advice as to whether it's normally plain sailing picking up the car if booked through virgin. Thanks!

I booked stand alone car hire through the virgin Atlantic site which was with Alamo as they were cheaper for me last time. I didn't have any problems and also did skip the counter with Alamo so just went straight to the garage to collect the car.

We used Virgin Holidays for just car hire in 2016 from Calgary to Vancouver. We went with them because it was easy to work out exactly what was included in the hire fee. We did have to pay a one way drop off fee when we picked up the car but we knew about that before hand. They used Alamo.

We are using them again this year for our trip to Boston (but flying with BA) - I'm hoping things are as easy this time.

That's great, thanks for your feedback :thumbsup2

Thank you, it's definitely looking like a good option!

I often use Virgin Atlantic for my car hire- think I read somewhere it is easier to cancel than V-hols. It’s with Alamo and seems to run considerably cheaper than regular Alamo/Brits. I book with a satnav too.

Thank you, I'll look into virgin Atlantic!
