Hi All

I've done a search on previous car hire threads and read through which has been really useful. I used the one account affiliate link with holiday autos (firstly going through Quidco) and have a price for 1 weeks car hire fire a medium SUV eg Rav 4 with full tank and all the Cdw add ins for £171 less Quidco at 14% would be £146.

Is it worth booking this now or would I get a better deal waiting for the will they / won't they Hertz mega sale etc?

Any opinions gratefully received x

What are your dates? I may not know if/when hertz will have a sale, but it's generally 40% off the prevailing rate for those dates on a specific rate plan (ignore the current website price for that date, different price plans etc). Let me know the dates, I can check the price and that will hopefully help you decide?

:goodvibes

Thank you x It is 22nd feb to 1st march. We keep looking for prices and have been reading all the past car hire questions through carefully but I'm being a bit cautious pressing book when Hertz or a n other company might come up with a deal.

Is that next year? If so I would wait.

I haven't booked our car hire for July yet.

Booked Aprils car hire in Late January when I got a £25 code for holiday autos on top on the one account discount plus 14% cash back through Quidco.

A few months out seems to offer the best rates at the moment.

Or you could book now using code "NORTHAMERICA20" for £20 off bringing it down to £151.20 less 12% Quidco = £133.06

Not sure you will do much better than that for a SUV with tank of gas & extra drivers.
Hertz could possibly have a sale with a good price but then fuel & drivers will make it more expensive IMO.

Assuming Quidco pays out a 7 seater for our dates was £135 for a week. Thats a pretty good deal i think.

We wont have the extra driver so dont think its worth paying for the max.

How much is the Max? just had a look at a random date, £43 less 12% Quidco = £38. Depending on model you get a tank is probably going to cost around $60 (£40)
Probably not much in it either way.

The fuel policy is under section 8 of the quote.

fuel conditions

Your car will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full. You may also have the option to pre-pay for full tank of fuel at the time of rental at the rate provided at the renting location. Cars should be returned empty and no refunds will be given for unused fuel. If you have purchased our Max product your car will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned empty (excluding Manhattan locations).

Thanks Wayne ive just booked without the max. Last time we used around half a tank with similar journeys so i dont think we'll lose out. And if we do it wont be by much.

I have done it and booked, actually came to £148.84 including credit card despite on the screen per payment appearing more (confused). Have printed as there is nothing to pay locally.

Took out the max so additional driver and full tank included with the intermediate SUV etc. so £148.84 less 14% Quidco is £128 which I think is a bit of a deal x

Thanks for all the input!

My last rental with them went thru a little less than the quote:confused3

Has Quidco tracked at 14%?
It says for all May and June bookings, only 12% for all others.

Not tracked yet, will let you know. It says on my link 14% for all sales confused.com!?! That was on the app though. On the website I've just read what you saw with the 12%.

Will see what it tracks at!

Hi, i have been checking today and have seen that Topcashback are offering 15% cashback on Holiday Auto's and £20 off. I have checked a price for a Dodge Caravan for 31st August pick up at 1.00pm Orlando Care care downtown and returning at 12 noon at Orlando airport on 7 September with MAX, as we need an additional driver. The total price is £239 plus credit card fee of 2%. Is it likely that I will get anything cheaper than this as it seems like a really good bargain.:confused3

Have you used the affiliate link first (well after linking via the cash back site?) which reduces the prices down by 15% before you start with the £20 off and the cash back gets applied?

Use the 15% discount link below, price will be £189.72 less cashback, your choice who you use, I don't have a lot of luch with TCB, still waiting for 2 claims to go thru they have not paid on. Personally I have more success with Quidco but others prefer TCB.

Not understanding your £239 quuote, is that before taking off the £20? Hopefully you can get to the figure of £189.72 less cashback.
