Has anyone seen the compact DVD player at sam's that has 2 screens that can hook on the back of the head rests. It is 299. I was just wondering if anybody had one or knew if they were a good deal. I was thinking of buying one for my upcoming disney trip. Thanks

Ya we bought one before one of our summmer trips to seattle. This is how it worked. bought it the night before. the morning we left hooked it up started driving out of town it would only work on the screen that was hooked to the player not the secound one. stopped at a gasstation to check it out. it had blown a fuse they didn't have the right one, stopped in the next town no fuses eather. So we got the the next town got some fuses at napa, decided we better figure it out before we left town. Well we got it to work on the last fuse in the box. We bought one more box (I think there are like 6 or 8 in a box) before we left town. Got to spokane exchanged it at walmart. got to seattle never used it all week. when we started home the new one also did the same thing. we could watch one screen but just about everytime you turned on the other screen it would blow a fuse. (I know it is not our car becouse we tried it in three other rigs and it would not work also. we use a tv-vcr in our car and van with the playstation one with a screen attached to it, and then we take along the playstaion 2 so the kids can watch dvds. I was thinking on this trip less stuff to take, less cords ect.) needless to say when we got home from our trip we took it back. So be carefull and get it ahead of time and use it lots before you go to make sure it is going to workfor you. good luck.

MIL gave us an eddie bauer system w/ two screens (which I'm sure was not cheap) but I would rather have three inexpensive dvd players so each child can watch what they want. It is always an issue. We put the main unit by the front seats so us parents can change the movie and put the second screen in the third row seat for the third child to watch. Ours works fine, each unit has to have a power source and the extra screen plugs into the main unit for a video feed.

The current one at Sam's is not the same as the previous one. We bought and then returned the previous one because it was faulty. I just bought the new one, and it seems to work well in the house. Our trip is in three weeks, so I will let you know how it works out :)

We bought ours are Walmart before our April trip- I think they were like 199.97 each. they have the 7" screens

We bought 2- for the simple reason they both could watch what they wanted. They also had earphones to use, so we didnt have to listen to their movies.

DD's used them on the drive down, and back. Sat through 5 1/2 hours of STOPPED traffic on the GWB in NYC and they didnt even know we were stopped. WAS A GODSEND! (they're was a major accident just up the road- 3 tractor trailers, and 2 minivans took forever to clear the mess).

Since April- they've used them 3x when we went to Maine 2x to CT, and my brother borrowed 1 of them this summer for his son whose 2, riding to Brothers football games (hey plays semipro ball)..

We've NEVER had a problem with them, the screen clarity is wonderful, the sound is great. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat if I needed to replace it.

here's a link-- Walmart DVD player

Hope that helps

I just bought the same unit at Sam's for about 10 dollars less. It seems to work great. but, you can't hook up a PS2, if they added that feature, it would be perfect. However, if you fly, they can use the battery and watch DVD's on the plane....

Do you happen to remember the "brand name" of this unit? We are looking into purchasing one and I do not want to get a lousy product.

This was the one we bought for $299. It had tilting screens and looked really nice. but after two from two differant stores that had the same defect no thanks. I thought while on our trip I should have bought two units so the boys could have watched differant movies. for cheeper. Maybe if you bought one were you live it would be from a differant "batch" and you wouldnt have any problums but for the price I will get two differant ones next time.
