Car cooler in the hotel room?

I recently purchased an electric cooler to use in the car while we drive down to Florida next month. The plug on the cooler came complete with a car adapter, meaning I can only plug it into a cigarette lighter, or equivalent.

I thought I'd read somewhere on here that there's a way you can convert this type of plug so that you can plug it into a regular a/c outlet. I asked about this at Best Buy and they looked at me like I was nuts.

Which I probably am!

But....it doesn't hurt to ask, right? But before I run off to Radio Shack and look like a big ol' bufoon again, I thought I'd ask here first. (y'all don't laugh at me like store clerks do!)

We have a car cooler that we used on our last trip. It plugs into the car(cigarette lighter or other power outlet). It also has an adapter that we used to plug the cooler in our hotel room. The plug that we used in the car plugs into the adapter which then plugs into the wall outlet. Ours came with our cooler (which we bought at Target) so I am sure that you can buy this adapter. Try Target as they carry many accessories for cars and traveling.

We also got ours at target and if I remember correctly it was a bit expensive but definetly cheaper than renting a fridge there.. but a word of advice, only put things that are already cold in it, it doesnt work as well if it the item isnt cold. We brought 2 coolers 1 reg with ice for soda and water and the electric one for sandwich meats and cheeses and milk and other already cold things

I bought an adapter at Wal Mart for $39! Radio Shack didn't have the type I needed.
