Has anyone had to use the car care center? Is it reasonably priced? We are on our way to WDW from OH and the car a/c is having lots of problems (runs, then dies, then runs again and dies). I am hoping to make it to WDW and have it fixed rather than be stuck in GA a day or two but am wondering if I'm better to use the car care center or another place in Orlando. Any suggestions?

Is it something you can just live without for your trip and see your regular mechanic at home after your trip? If not,
We like the Midas on OBT, not too far from Sea World area. (at first, it seems like a not so good location but it is fine for using his shop

Chris is a really good guy. Our DD relocated to Orlando and her car started acting up after making the 1200 trip. We chose there (from IL) based on Yelp, and the reviews are not lying. He has been great, gets the repairs right and extremely fair. Always makes time. I thought our DD would feel a bit stressed having to handle the car on her own but Chris and his team really looked out for her and called us to communicate everything too. His location was a bit far from her house, but worth it. Matte if fact, He worked on her A/C a few months ago, tested and charged it, was under $70 I think for the whole deal.We stopped in there when visiting her to thank him, he is just super helpful and nice. There isn't much around his shop, a Ford dealer across the road , and maybe a pizza place but it's a bit of a walk on the highway. There is a small seating area for waiting. Give him a call when you get there explaining what's up, he will tell you if he has time that day .

I'll try him once we're there. The heat index is over 100 right now and I'm dreading the 4.5 hrs to finish our trip to WDW tomorrow. The a/c isn't putting out any cool air at all as of tonight so it's useless. We're going to travel early in the morning to try to avoid as much of the heat as possible but to go home, it's a 16 hr drive.

Maybe you could drop it off at the place suggested above and take a cab to the parks, then someone could go back to get it when it is ready. Or one of you take it over after you check in where you are staying and take a cab back. Are you staying on property?

Yes, it's my DD16 and I and we're staying at the Poly DVC. I may call him and see if he thinks it can be done in a day or if he can give me any type of free estimate so I know how much and how long I'd be looking at.

We had to use the car care place a few years back. I will say I thought it was the same price as what I would pay for a normal mechanic where we live and we had the convenience of not losing a day at the parks. dropped everyone off at T&T, mom took the car in, then somehow (don't remember that part) got back to T&T and met up with us in the parks.

FINFAN, thank you for the recommendation! We took our car there and they got the part to fix it and took great care of us! They were very nice and even gave us a decent discount since we ended up needed a new a/c compressor. Thank you for the suggestion.
