Hey all - Just booked a rental car for Oct (Alamo) and am wondering about the shuttle to the AAA Car Care Center. We're staying at Contemporary. Is it easier to walk than get a shuttle? I'm assuming it must be close by since it says it's by MK. If the shuttles are efficient I'll just do that, but I hate waiting for transportation when I could walk just as fast or faster. Any tips? Thanks!

I have never rented from the Car Care Center. But, another option is the Alamo counter at Shades of Green.

The pick you up at your resort. We stayed at Pop recently and did a 1 day rental. They picked DH up at Pop. When he returned the car they dropped him off at Pop.

You cannot walk to the CCC. There are no sidewalks. Even if you could it is 3.6 miles from the Contemporary. It is only 1 mile from the Poly but there is no way to get there on foot from the Poly either. The CCC is on a side road off the main road going into the MK, not far from the entrance. If you go to Google Maps and type in "1000 Car Care Drive, Orlando, FL" you will see where it is relative to the MK and the MK-area hotels.

Its efficient but you have to get on the pick-up list for your resort. You call them 24 hours before, or the morning of and they will tell you the pick-up time for your resort. They run on a schedule, not random.
We take DME from the airport, then rent from National at the Car Care Center. We have never had any problems.

So if I want them to come at say 7:12 they won't do that? (I'm not that psycho, just an example...) You mean there's a set time for it to stop at my resort and if it doesn't work for my schedule I'm stuck waiting? Does it make multiple stops or go right to CCC from Contemporary?

True, but things change over time. When I've used the CCC shuttle, I called the day before and arranged a mutually agreeable time for pickup. Recent posts however, suggest that the shuttle may now be running on more of a predetermined schedule. That's why the PP suggested that you call and get the current information. That is what I would do.
