Just realized that this is now being offered at DL; we did one at the Animal Kingdom last summer; got some great photos. But went to app to book, and it says call to reserve? Why???? I could book for WDW ones in the app. Now I guess I'll have to sit online forever to do this. This is why they have such long wait times, easy thing like this. It's no different than dining reservations or dessert parties, pick an available time, # of guests, pay with credit card.
I was hoping since I had a VIP tour scheduled, they could help me since they said they could do ADRs, but when I emailed they said they didn't do that. Figured I try to do before tour on tour day.

I just called (waited 10 minutes) and got someone who really had no clue about it. She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said they are not accepting reservations yet. She said reservations would be online when available. Who knows.

Thanks. I hadn't tried yet, because I hadn't had a block of time to sit on hold. Grandkids were over today. VIP tour just sent me link, and it just said call at the top of the page. Appreciate the info. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see what they tell me.

My guess is the website jumped the gun. DisneyParksBlog will probably announce this week. Original rumor was reservations would start in July.

It's 20 minutes with your own photographer. Meet at assigned time. They had 2 people with us. Here's a couple of shots they took. They are just screenshots, original files too big. They took us to several locations.

Update, I did call this morning, and I guess they have been getting calls about it, because their recorded message you get states: if you are calling about the capture your moment at DL, reservations will open soon. Check at disneyland.com or in the app.

So, don't know why the app says to Call for reservations, they just should have a blurb, reservations opening soon.

It's fun becuase they can get more creative with locations and composition. We did some in January in the MK for our 50th anniversary trip. While they don't guarantee people free shots, they are very good at finding less populated areas. The 2nd Photopass person helps a lot to keep others at bay briefly while they take their shot.
