Hey! We're planning to stay at the YC (first visit there) in April...for our first night we like to eat at a restaurant close to the hotel because we're usually so tired from traveling to make it much further...we head straight to the MK play there then head back for an early dinner and sleepy time! :)

So should we eat at Cape May buffet or Captains Grille? Our children are 12, 10, 9 and eat anything...the menu looks nice at the Grille I just haven't heard too much about the quality...if you've tried these please give me your experience! :)

Thanks!
Tara

We have eaten at the Cape May and we really only like the breakfast. I do not care that much of clams and other crawfish, so alot of the dinner menu did not appeal to me. The breakfast is great!!

I have not eaten at the other restaurant, so I cannot offer my opinion.

Both have good food! Cape May has other things besides seafood such as ribs. I don't like seafood and I was happy with our meal there. We also like Captain's Grill although we haven't ate there since they renamed it and changed the menu.

Have you thought about walking over to the Boardwalk and eating at ESPN Club? It is a fun atmosphere but they don't take ADRs.

We LOVE Cape May for Breakfast and Dinner, in fact it is a must-do for us, every trip. I'm also curious at the new Capt.'s Grill. The menu looks great - is it completely new, or the old Galley menu?

We have done Cape May before and it was great the first 2 times but not that great the last 2 (last trip Oct 07) so we decided to go to Captains Grille, the menu looks great!

I love CMC! Breakfast is better than dinner, I think.

I'd love to hear from someone who went to Captains Grille recently though...I definitely want to try it after seeing the new menu!

Yes it's the menu that got us....it looks as nice as some of the higher end restaurants...I've only read one review on CG and it was fabulous...any one with a recent take on it???

Thanks!!
Tara

Captain's Grille - my DD works there.;)

But actually, I've heard great things about it, can't wait to try it myself.:thumbsup2

On our first day at YC, I don't even have an ADR :scared1: we too are always tired on travel day. I'm thinking that we are going to hang by the pool all day, get Beaches and Cream, CG or if we have the energy ;) stroll over to the Boardwalk for something easy.

I've eaten at both and unless you are a big seafood eater I would eat at Captain's Grille. The food is very good. Their breakfast buffet is also really nice.

I am not a seafood eater. We had no choice one evening but to eat at Cape May and I really didn't think the selection good at all for non-seafood eaters. Why would you limit your choice for the price you pay unless other people in your party are really crazy about seafood and want to try it.

Captains Grille is one of those hidden gems that not many people talk about, but we feel are better than many of the signature. Others include Olivia's, Grand Floridian Cafe and The Plaza. Now let's keep that a secret!!! Probably more info than you wanted!!! ;) We'll actually be eating at the Captains Grille this Sunday

If you see Amanda from Buffalo State College working there - quietly mention that Mom (grinningghost) says hi and misses her.;) :)
