We ate there the first night of our July trip. We enjoyed everything we ordered--we both had the crab legs. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. It's not quite the fine dining you expect to find at the signature restaurants, but we had no complaints. Go for it!
We ate there last Sept and thought it was really good. A couple of us had the crab legs and my DH had the steak. We were there kind of late so we had a nice relaxing dinner and it wasn't crowded at all.
We ate there last June and liked it. I had crab cakes appetizer, lobster roll and chocolate cake. All was very good. We went for lunch on a Sat and it was not very busy. Service was very good. Overall, it was wonderful.
I guess I'm the only one who didn't like it
I thought the atmosphere was not great (and I expect atmosphere at WDW) and the service we had was pretty bad. No one even came to our table for about 15 mins and the server got my order wrong. I felt like the menu was kind of limited. I realize it was meant to have a seafood theme, but I would expect some better sandwich choices for lunch. I got a turkey sandwich and was underimpressed.
However, after all of that, I'd probably still go back to give it a second try. Overall, it seemed like an okay place.
When we stayed at the YC we would eat our breakfast there. It was great waking up when you felt like it, not having to worry about an ADR to rush too, go down to the lobby practically walk in without waiting and have either menu service b-fast or the breakfast buffet.
This is something that I cherish about YC/BC. At the other deluxes all their TS b-fast restaurants are character or ADR. Not sure about the GF...I do think you can walk into their restaurant.
As much as I love WL....having to have WCC as my "go to" place for breakfast is just too much for me to handle.
Thought captains grille was 1TS and Yatchman's steakhouse was 2TS? Someone on this thread said captain's grille is signature- which is correct? Want to check as I dont want to use 2 for Captains Grille on our upcoming trip and need to cancel our ressie. Thanks

Before the name change to Captain's Grille the food came out of the same kitchen as Yachtsman Steakhouse. Had lunch at the Yacht Club Galley(old name) and dinner at YSH the same day and the soup of the day was the same. Don't know if it's still from the same kitchen.
