Captain's Grill at Yacht Club

In going through our ADR wish list last night, we realized that one of the places that we wanted for lunch is actually only open for dinner and we already have all of our dinner choices made, so we need to find something else for dinner.

We are staying at the Yacht Club and I see that the Captain's Grill serves lunch, so I thought this might be a good option.

So what can you tell me about Captain's Grill, particularly for lunch. If you've only been for dinner, please feel free to share your opinion too!!

Had lunch there when we stayed at the YC two years ago. My DS and I both enjoyed the lobster roll (but I'm not from New England, so what do I know?

We went to Captain's Grille in November of 2010 for dinner. The food and service were good but we were so full from meals during the day (none were TS) that we kind of had to force ourselves to eat. Our server was from the Bronx and we are from New England so we had some laughs. We would eat there again but it isn't a must-return to. If you didn't have Cape May Cafe clambake buffet on your list it is a definate for us although the price went up and is pretty steep now. Big River is across the lake at Boardwalk and we have enjoyed that too.

We had lunch there last year, the food was good. We walked right in without a ADR in September. It seems to be quieter than alot of the other restaurants.

We had dinner here in September. The food was really good but the service was awesome. It was probably the best all around meal we had.

We ate at CG for the first time in August. We had an ADR for lunch, but I don't think you would need one. It wasn't very busy. My daughter got the fish & chips, and I have to say that it was easily the best fish & chips we have eaten. My DH and I both got the lobster roll, and we both agreed that it was very good. We are planning on a return visit in August for lunch again. Can't wait!! Hope you enjoy.

We do have Cape May on our list too - actually for breakfast and dinner. We'll be on the Deluxe Dining Plan and a lot of our dinners are 2TS.

We're thinking Epcot in the morning, then lunch at CG around 11. Head over to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon. Stroll back to YC and get ready for dinner at Citricos and close out the night with a little time at Magic Kingdom if we're up for it.

Captain's Grill was by far my FAVORITE table service restaurant of the trip. That said, I'm a very Southern gal who loves a good steak and potatoes! I ordered the grilled ribeye with cheddar bacon mashed potatoes and could have eaten three plates of the mashed potatoes alone!!! It was very quiet the night we went and I was surprised that more people do not go to it but we were definitely glad to have booked it!

Hi Kelleigh! If you're in Epcot around lunchtime, we really love lunch at Via Napoli and Chef's de France. We've only been to Le Cellier for dinner before, but we'll try it for lunch next trip. I don't recall if you already have any of these on your list of ADRs for the trip, but just wanted to mention these alternatives since you'll be in Epcot around that time! (And my lunch at Captain's Grill was far too long ago for me to give it a reliable review!) Good luck with your decision!

We ate at Capt grille last week for dinner, it was wonderful! Food was great (DH got steak and cheddar mashed, loved it, I got the crab legs, great!!) and the service was even better. Our plane was late so we were 30 mins late for our ADR....no problem at all! They seated us immediately and were very nice about it! Our server Emily was knowledgable and friendly but not hovering, the chef greeted us, it was just a great experience!!!

Chefs is on our list too! Via Napoli is not because we decided not to go with Italian on this trip since hubby is Italian and every time we go to NJ to visit his family, we always have Italian. It was under consideration in the early planning, but it didn't quite make the cut.

Dinner last September, food was very good. Service was borderline terrible. Sounds like we just had bad luck.

DH and I ate the Captains Grill just 10 days ago for lunch. Tried their "new" clam chowder" and it was wonderful! It has the whole clam, fingerling potatoes, heavy cream, bacon and these wonderful biscuit things. We really enjoyed the uniqueness and the experience. You can still order "regular" clam chowder. DH and I split a burger which had crab on top. The burger was very good but the crab made it a little too rich for my taste. Choice of sides was fries or vegetable couscous.

All in all a great experience. Our waitress was great.

We had stopped going there because the food had become boring. Not this time.

Oh, and the chef came out to see how we liked everything. Love that!

For us it was the exact opposite. We enjoyed some of the best service we ever received at Disney while being served some of the worst food we ever ate.
