We are thinking about using them instead of DCL due to all the recomendations here, but were wondering which is the best one to do. I looked at thier site and saw that they had 3 different legths and different times for each one. We would probably want either the short or the half day, but what would be the best timewise?

we did the two hour which really ends up close to 3.5 hours, they are great you can't go wrong with cap. marvins

I agree we did the 2 hour trip and it did last quite a bit longer. We just returned yesterday, what a wonderful experience!! I just loved holding the rays. My 2 girls loved the feel of them but were a bit scared to be in the water on their own. Feeling a bit sad that it is all over. Enjoy your vacation, and Captain Marvins.

We did the short one, first thing in the AM. It left us the rest of the day to mess around and see Grand Cayman. Wonderful experience, I really recommend Capt Marvins!

I looked tocheck and saw that Cpt Marvins wants you there by 8am for the 8:30 tour, but it looks like they don't start the tenders till around 7:30, has this been a problem for anyone?

Not a problem at all. Just make sure you get to the tender meeting area first thing, go a half hour early just to be sure and let the CMs know that you have an appt with Capt Marvins. Also, Marvin's will wait for you. We waited for several people off other cruise ships.

We did have a problem. Because of rough seas, the tenders were temp. suspended. They moved the ship to the other side of the island and resumed the tender service. DCL gave preference to people with DCL excursions. We were asked to go to the Walt Disney Theater and await instructions. We were late to shore but Capt. Marvins waited and left another bus for those coming behind us and took us to check in. Another thumbs-up for Capt. Marvins.

I would also recommend Captain Bryan's. It is an easy walk from the pier right next door to the bakery. I picked Captain Bryan primarily because he has a catamaran and I love laying on the netting in the front. That part of the trip is as much fun as the snorkeling and the rays. Our skipper was very good, taking pictures as we held and fed the rays. I would pick them again. We did the three hour tour and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.

We also visited Stingray City last May with Captain Marvins & had a wonderful time. I believe we did the 2 hour tour around 10 or 11am. We also lucked out becuase DCL cancelled their excursion because the weather was too rough, but Captain Marvins did not.

They did warn us & let another family with a young child..5 or 6 cancel, but said they felt safe taking out our group as it was a smaller group then what DCL takes out. All in all we were glad we went!!

Have fun!

We did the half day (4 hour) tour with two snorkling stops.

It was great! Our tour guide lured out a eel for us to see up close snorkling in the reef and the coral gardens were beautiful. Both our boys (aged 8 & 12) had a blast. The guides and service were excellent.

And of course, the stingrays were the topper!

Would highly recommend Capt Marvins and I'm not just saying that because they gave us all rum cakes!!

HI , we also looked at alot of tours and basically want the best value for money but still having a great time, we have booked with nativeway tours, this is what they have, check out their website too. but for $30pp i thought it was a great deal. I also like that they pick you up at the pier and that you don't pay until the day , so if the ships late etc no charge.

The price of our 2.5 hour tour that goes to Stingray Sandbar and Coral Gardens is $30 per person. The price includes: pick up at the pier (our rep.will be waiting for you near the gate that you must exit), free use of all snorkeling gear, food for the Rays, and complimentary punch and bottled water. After the tour you have two options for drop off: back to the pier, or, at 7 mile beach (where you can taxi back at any time for $4 per person).

You will spend about 35 minutes at Stingray Sandbar and 35 minutes at Coral Gardens.

The first tour departs the pier at 8:30 AM Central Time (9:30 AM ship time) and completes at 11:15 AM Central Time; the last tour departs the pier at 11:15 AM Central Time and completes at 2 PM Central time.

To reserve space, simply e-mail back and request a reservation. Include your full name and your tour time preference.
