Captain Marvin's details please

What exactly is Cpt Marvin's? How do you reserve? I know it can be reserved way in advance if not through DCL. What type of cancellation policy is there? How much is the deposit, etc? Anything else I should know?

Captain Marvins is a private charter in Grand Cayman. We used them to go to stingray city-the two hour tour. It was fantastic.
If the ship can not get to grand cayman you will not be charged. If you CHOOSE to not go-ie: sick, raining etc. you will be charged. We reserved via the internet several months in advance did not pay until the day of. (held reservation with CC#) No deposit is needed. their website is www.captainmarvins.com

1) How "late" can you reserve for Capt. Marvin's?

I am very leary of anyone offshore having my CC# in advance of me receiving service, regardless of their reputation. I speak from bad experience, as a crooked employee of an un-named corporation sold my CC# information to an organized crime ring, who proceeded to run up over $45,000 in cash in Las Vegas a few years back.

2) Will Capt. Marvin be "sold out" if I wait to book until I arrive?

I ask this as the ship may still be able to anchor, but the weather (wind and seas) may be too high to enjoy the experience. What about if it is raining? I want to do this, but don't want mother nature to spoil the experience - and don't want to be accountable for all circumstances, even if the ship can still anchor.

We didn't book our 1/2 day excursion with Capt. Marvin's till about 2 weeks before our cruise - if that far out! They had room left on all their excursions. It was wonderful - only wish we had done the full day! We cruised in November - so it might not have been as busy as at other times of the year.

I just used Capt. Bryan and had a wonderful experience. We had the whole boat to ourselves.
