Here's a few of mine...

I never liked the new Treasure House...always liked When the Captain opened the old Treasure House with his big ring of keys.

The Town Clown freaked me out a little.

Liked Grandfather Clock.

The changing of the guard at the palace...with Alice...

Bunny rabbit glasses

Ping pong balls

The story about the steam shovel.

The guy who played a stand up bass like a guitar.

Magic drawing board...little character shaped kind of like a drop of water who bounced...

Now it's your turn...

I dont have to much of a memory of him, but one time I remember I was wee little staying home sick from school and watching him on tv. I could see me watching him in my mind, almost like Im watching me on tv

Another -- Tom Terrific!

& Tom Terrific was a 2 day episode, so if you were sick on the 1st day, you had to be sick the second day to see how it ended!:rotfl2:

I'll never forget how he was demonstrating how if you were riding in a car & it stopped how you could get hurt. he had a shoe box with "people" on top. he moved along the table & stopped the box. the people kept going off the top of the car. made a real impression to me.

about 10 yrs ago we saw hiim at a book signing. was just wonderful meeting the 'legend'.

I watched the Captain, but was so young I cannot remember any episode clearly. Or is it that I am SO old now???? that I cannot remember events that far away?
Wasn't the rabbit called Bun Bun? Or am I making that up?

Loved the Captain, Mr. Green Jeans, bunny rabbit and especially Tom Terrific. Loved the ping pong balls!!

Never liked Captain Kangaroo. My memory would probably be "what a dilwad" or the 1960s kiddie equivalent of the word. OTOH, that Romper Room lady was hot.

Jim

I used to pretend that Mr. Green Jeans was my best friend. I told all my friends and they believed me, but that they just couldn't see him like I could. They could only see him on TV.

I LOVED the Banana Man. Does anyone remember him? He came out, pulled a whole cardboard train out of his coat, then filled it with bananas from his coat and pulled the train away. He was a clown and he made just noises like ooooo and ahhhh and laughs. I just thought he was wonderful!! eta: OMG, I just googled him and watched his whole bit. I'm in heaven; I never thought I'd see my beloved Banana Man again. Love YouTube!

I loved Mr Green Jeans! He would bring on this mynah bird, and that bird would usually refuse to talk on camera. I remember my mom got the biggest kick out of how they tried to cover and fill the air time when that durn bird wouldn't speak!

I loved when they read the Mike Mulligan and Maryanne Book. They must have read it pretty often!

That was one of my very favorite shows growing up. They need more shows like that one these days.

I adored this man! I wanted to visit the Treasure House so badly!! I even got to meet him when he did a lecture many, many years later. I felt like a kid again and he was sooooo nice! I just wanted to hug him! I thanked him for being so cool! Bob Keeshan rocks!

I was more of a Bozo the Clown guy..........he seemed 'edgier'.:cool2:
