Captain EO returning with laser effects? (RUMOR)

No idea if this guy @DLThings on Twitter is reliable or not, but yesterday he posted that a reliable source told him EO would be returning after Tomorrowland leaves, and it will have the laser effects back and a new digital transfer. Exciting news for us EO fans if true.

(Also, I looked at the past couple days' worth of posts and didn't see anything about this. Sorry if I missed it.)

I know that would make my heart glad . Captain EO is certainly not every ones cup of tea but our entire family loves it.

Right there with you on that! You have me to thank. When I booked my trip, I specifically asked for a birthday present: Captain EO's return with lasers. No kidding. Hopefully it's ready by Labor Day.

The theater is now digital so it would most likely be a digital transfer as apposed to the old film that was falling apart. It would all depend on how clean the transfer is.

that may be true for captain eo in epcot since that one is supposed to return after the tomorrowland previews conclude this week BUT i saw where captain eo was not supposed to return at disneyland. the info i saw said that april 10th was its final showing at disneyland.

It was in the original release. This particular rumor is speaking to Disneyland specifically.

I never see this kind of love for EO on the WDW boards. It warms my heart. We are a family of EO lovers as well - saw it twice on our last trip to WDW. We would all be thrilled to have it return to the parks. I hope this is true and we can see it on our trip to DL next year.

I got a warning once because I said something to one of the MJ haters on here, haha. I wasn't even vulgar or particularly rude, so I was kind of shocked, tbh.

The last time I went to DL was in December and it just wasn't the SAME without Captain EO! Still had a great time, but truth be told, it's what got me interested in visiting in the first place!
