captain E O leaving?

So many haters.

Where else can you see Michael Jackson save the world through a song and dance routine? Captain EO is amazing.

I would be OK if they brought in something else, but it would have to be equally amazing. Guardians of the Galaxy would be nice.

Sherman, set the Wayback Machine for 1983 or thereabouts. I was in Junior High and seriously addicted to Star Wars. I was a member of the Official Star Wars Fan Club, and the high point of my year was the four times my Bantha Tracks magazine arrived. I remember reading the articles about Captian EO and Star Tours coming to Disney World parks. I wanted to go, but there was no way that was gonna happen. My parents hated taking us to Six Flags, which is right here in Texas, so WDW was completely out of the question.
Back to the 21st Century. I am married to a successful software engineer and have two kids. And I decided my kids need to go to Disney! I'm not sure we can really afford it any more than my parents could, but we're doing it anyway, dadgummit. And one thing I've been really looking forward to is fulfilling my own dreams of going to WDW and seeing Captain Eo and riding Star Tours! Captain Eo sucks? Good, then maybe it won't be crowded. But I want to see it. If they're going to take it out, that's fine. They can close it on Jan. 4, 2015. But we'll be there on the 3rd and I want to see it, so they can't close it til then!!!

I would love to see them replace this with a Robin Williams tribute by bringing back one of his WDW projects from the 80's, like Back to Neverland or The Timekeeper....at least for a few months.

Now this would be a nifty idea!

we saw Capt EO 5 times in a row -- in various versions -

1) the video played and the room shook but no sound
2) the room shook -- no sound or video
3) the sound played and the room shook no video
4) no sound and no shaking
5) the actual synced presentation (video, sound and motion)

apparently we were not allowed to leave due to safety concerns --

I would have wondered if I had actually died and was in hell.

To be perfectly honest, all joking aside, in light of what Universal is doing with Harry potter and the ingenious creativity....there is no excuse, NO excuse for wasting valuable real estate on attractions such as captain eo, stitch's great escape, and journey into imagination.

All three of these attractions are sub-par, lack the genius Disney is/was known for and quite frankly are an embarrassment when compared to what Universal is doing.

Get in the game Disney, your edges are starting to fray. Step up and show us that Universal didn't hire the only masterminds.

I would love to see this building rotate attractions. Captain EO is great but could use a digital re-do. 3D convergence is pretty far off with the current projection.

There should be enough programs so that they can bring back EO occasionally and have it be special.

They should just show Frozen starting every 90 minutes. Much better use of the space and it would get a few little kids out of my way during food and wine.

I have never seen Captain EO but if the room can shake that would be perfect for a scene from Frozen when Ella stomps her feet and the ground crackles with ice and snow!

Of course I still miss Wonderscof Life so that would be nice too

Don't worry-- I think it was just a hell testing period... and only for select resort guests.

Captain EO is the most obvious "weak link" at WDW in my opinion. That thing has already been pulled once. It was weak when it debuted (when MJ was HOT), and now it's just plain bad. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
