Has anyone run into this? The website says if they ship can't dock, you won't be charged. I just wondered if anyone has knowlege that it is true. I guess I'm a skeptic at heart.

It was true on our western cruise... there were bad storms at grand cayman and we couldn't tender in and we were never charged for the excursion.

Same thing happened to us. Booked Stingray/snorkeling tour on line with capt. marvin, bad weather struck so we couldn't make it to cayman. Our reservation was canceled and we were not charged.

Why gamble?

Book with an outfitter that doesn't charge a deposit of take your credit card number ahead of time.

There's not a significant difference between the major operators that go to the SC sandbar (Capt. Marvin, Capt. Bryan, Nativeway, etc.). You'll read good reviews for all of them.

In January, we were booked with Captain Marvins. Because of wind the cruises canceled all snorkeling snd stingray excursions. When we arrived at Captain Marvins we were given all the information about the weather and the choice of whether we still wanted to go. We would not have been charged if we chose not to go. We chose to risk it and had a wonderful time. There was only one other boat at the sand bar when we were there. We basically had the stingrays to ourselves. I recommend Captain Marvins, they are the best.
