Any reviews on this place?

From the menu, it seems like a decent CS choice for us for dinner, but I would like the opinion of someone who's been. We are just looking to catch a quality sandwich or salad to munch on while waiting to watch Wishes from the Poly beach.

I was thinking about the multi-grain turkey club with a dole whip. Anyone tried these?

Any reviews appreciated!! Thanks! :goodvibes

We grabbed a cheese flat bread there, we were coming in from the pool and were starving. It was horrible, must have been sitting for a while because the cheese was melted like hard plastic.

We really liked Captain Cook's on our July '07 stay at the Poly. It didn't have a huge selection, but everything that they had was really good except the Stir-Fried Noodles. They had no flavor! My favorite part of the restaurant was the Dole Whip machine... I must have had 10 during our 7 day trip!! Captain Cook's didn't have much indoor seating and the outdoor seating was filled with seagulls. Overall it was a very good restaurant, and for the price it was excellent! :)

I had the Aloha Pork Sandwich and thought it was pretty good. The Dole Whips are fabulous. I think those were my favorite things there.

We loved Captain Cook's when we were at WDW in September, we made a special trip there twice (we were staying at Pop). My husband had the Aloha Pork Sandwich and my son got the multigrain turkey club. They each got the same thing twice since they enjoyed it so much, the first time I shared with them, the second I got the stir-fried noodles, which were a bit salty for me, but otherwise fine.

Of course, we all LOVED the self-serve Dole Whips, and even made our own Dole Whip Floats with some orange juice I'd gotten for my beverage. :goodvibes

There's some pictures of the sandwiches in my dining review in the link below if you care to wade through it. Needless to say, we're looking forward to going back to Captain Cook's this year, it was a good experience for us.

I enjoyed the turkey sandwich and also Pepperoni Flatbread during our stay. Both very good! The Dole Whip machine is great, as are their pastries.

We ate there in may...my husband said it was the best burger he had the whole trip...I thought the Pepperoni flatbread pizza was EXCELLENT...best pizza at WDW in my opinion.

Last month when I stayed at the Polynesian I went to Captin Cook's a few times and thought everything I had tasted great. Some of the things I ordered was the Double Cheeseburger, Grown-up Grilled Cheese, (without the Blue Cheese) Caesar Salad with Chicken and the Traditional Flatbread Pizza. Out of those items my favorite was the Grown-up Grilled Cheese. Of course I also had a few Dole Whips and I choose the Vanilla one.

We just got back from the Poly. We really liked Capt Cooks. My husband had the grown up grilled cheese and the hawaian flatbread and loved them. I had the Kona Salad and really like it! We liked it alot and would go back!!!

These reviews sound great! It looks like this will be our dinner on our first night:thumbsup2

Turkey on multi-grain sounds healthy and delicious and that's what I will likely get...though I am intrigued by this grown up grilled cheese-how is it different from a regular grilled cheese sandwich?

I can't remember the taste of a Dole Whip. My DBF will likely enjoy a float. I LOVE soft serve, but I do not like pineapple or pineapple flavored things-should I skip the Dole Whip?

Thanks!

There is also a Vanilla flavour Dole Whip, so you don't need to get the Pineapple one.

Good to know! Vanilla is my favorite kind of soft serve-thanks!:thumbsup2
You're welcome. Also when you order the Dole Whip at the self service machine it will only say the Pineapple flavour, however that does not mean you need to get that one. I guess the Vanilla one must be new which is why it was not listed on there.
