We love tonga toast...we are staying off site this trip and wondered if we drive to poly for breakfast where do you park? How long can we be there without getting in trouble...we thought we would have breakfast...ride the monorail around to the different shops and then head out.... is that ok to do? Or should we ask at the gate?

I would tell them at the gate that you are having breakfast at Captain Cook's and check if it is okay to a bit of shopping. Chances are they will be happy to let you spend your money at Disney shops.

When I went to the gate to check in for Kona, the guard double checked for my name on his list. That was the only place that did that so i am not sure if you will have an issue.

Captain Cooks is closed for renovations. As I understand it, if you want Tonga Toast you'll either need to eat at Kona Cafe or the temp CS location at the Poly called Cast Cove.

I go to the Poly on the last day of our stay every year, just to order Tonga Toast and sit out by the volcano pool. I have never had a problem telling the guard that I am there to get an order of Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks.

How soon are you going? I ask because with current parking lot renovations, there has been a sign posted that only people with resort reservations may park, since the main lot is closed. Also Captain Cooks in under reno, they are serving some quick service food in another location but I'm not sure they will still have TT.

The monorail had been down from 11:30-7 every day a few weeks ago, I think I saw that it's back up & running all day, but with the extensive Poly construction, I wouldn't hold my breath!

It's been announced/posted in several places that the temporary QS place will have the full Captain Cook's menu except for dole whips.
