Going to Vegas in March. I like to wear capris - other than sandals, what type of shoes would you wear? Sneakers? with socks?

I know it is hard to find a nice shoe that is not a sandal that looks good with a capri! I can dress casual for work, but the only rule is a closed toe shoe. I ended up getting a shoe made by Clarks that is a leather slide and works well with capris. I used those shoes to walk around NYC and they worked fine.

I know I'm the odd one out, but for tons of walking I wear sneakers with socks(cuffed). I've worn Nikes and Keds. I like my Keds. Sometimes Sperry topsiders.

For dressier times I'll wear sandals.

I've worn sneakers with my capris on vacation and it just doesn't look quite right. I wear socks, but the really low ones that are basically hidden inside the shoe. I think maybe Keds type shoes (basically flatter/not bulky) might look the best for non-sandal, sneaker-type shoes.

I also wear a lot of ballet slipper style shoes that are "in" right now. Many of these would look good because you still show a lot of foot. I wouldn't wear socks, unless again, you can get the ones that are totally hidden inside those shoes (which they do make!).

I wear sneaker-like flats, kind of a mary jane style. I have a pair of keds, some blue flowered Skechers, and I'm edging toward buying a pair of plaid Rocket Dogs. No socks, but they have a lot more cushion than most flats.

PS...I'm under 30 so I can get away with some of the younger prints, but the keds come in solid colors. I have white.

I agree with the Clarks suggestion. Although I usually wear athletic shoes with my capris at Disney (even though I don't think it's a very attractive look ;) ), I've worn my Clarks slides and they were nearly as comfortable for walking as my sneakers-with-socks.

I wear sneakers a lot with capri's but I wear the real low cut socks, otherwise I think it looks funny.

I'm glad that you asked this question. We will be at Disney at the end of March with our HS Band, and I will be wearing capris exclusively. DH and I am chaperoning and I don't want to be wearing shorts in my "official" capacity.

Anyway, I always wear sneakers at Disney - except on my last trip when I wore my Mary Jane Crocs on the last day. I think that I will be wearing my Crocs every day as I wear capris on this trip.

Wear whatever is the most comfortable and to heck with fashion. Vegas can involve a LOT of walking. on my first trip a few years ago, I took 3 pairs of (supposedly) comfy sandals, but ended up with nasty blisters on my toes and had to buy a new pair that let my toes wiggle free.

Now I take these and sneakers. If I wear anything else, like dressing up for dinner or a show, then we take a cab if it is in a different hotel.

I pretty much live in capris myself. In cooler weather I wear ballet flats or Converse's Chuck Taylor low top slip on's, or their Jack Purcell low tops without socks.

I have 2 pairs of mary jane type skechers. Not only are they so comfortable, I think they look really cute with capris. I wore them to Disney in January. After 6 full days of walking, my feet did not hurt at all, the first time ever at Disney my feet didn't hurt.

I'm from freezing Chicago today. It's 1 degree with a wind chill of minus 20. My rule of thumb is 50 degrees and up, flip flops with capris! 50 is like a heat wave for me. If not for flip flops, then I say keds (no socks), or a nice loafer-type shoe (again no socks). Have a great trip!

I'll be at Disney too at the end of March. Week before Easter to be exact.
So you've worn maryjane crocs before to Disney and they worked out alright for you? I was thinking about wearing mine, but I just bought them and I'm not sure they will have enough heel support to last all day. Did your feet hurt at all by the end of the day?

I agree about wearing comfortable shoes that are broken in. I got the worst blisters I've ever had walking around Vegas in chic, new-ish shoes that I thought were comfortable until it was too late. I had no idea how spread out the strip is and how much walking is involved to get anywhere.

Crocs Alice shoe is totally cute with capris and sooo comfy and a bit different from a sandal.

We will be there Easter Monday until Friday.

Well, as I mentioned in a post on the CB, when I was in Disney in July, I developed some nice blisters on my foot wearing sneakers and socks. I ALWAYS wear sneakers and socks at Disney. I spray my feet with antiperspirant spray. I take VERY good care of my feet when I am down there, and 95% of the time I am OK. But this time, for whatever reason, I was not.
I told my DH that I did not know what I was going to do for my last park day since I had these nasty blisters. Well, I had brought along my Crocs Mary Janes which I had just gotten before the trip. I had worn them to the pool, water parks, etc, but not to the parks. I did not want to risk it. But since my feet were already in bad shape, I figured "What can I lose?" So I wore them. And I had no problems with them whatsoever. My blisters did not bother me, and I did not develop any others.
When I go to Disney in 6 weeks, I am going to take my 2 pairs of Mary Janes and some sneakers and socks to cover all bases. My guess is that I will be wearing my Mary Janes more often than my sneakers. :)

Good Luck!

while on a normal everyday basis I wear flipflops I was not able to during our trip last week due to a sore/wart on the back of my heel so I needed a little support so I started out wearing my tennis shoes w/ ankle socks but after the first day my shoes that mind you are eight years old the rubber on the bottom fell off so I ended up buying a pair of the mary jane crocs while I was there and they were great I wore them the whole rest of the trip and had no trouble at all. This is my first pair of crocs/croc type shoes and I am ready to buy more. I really like these but am wanting the ballerina flats b/c I think they are still a little more feminine looking than the mary janes or not as bulky looking.
