Capn' Jacks ?

We want to go to Capn' Jacks on the night we do MVMCP and I
never see much about it. I was wondering about the crab and/or
seafood in general. We have dream maker + silver and I only wanted to use 1 wish. I would love any advice or info from anyone who has eaten there. Thanks ya'll!

Please go somewhere else. This is the worst restaurant in WDW, and it's not just my opinion: do a search and you'll see the number of negative postings.

On our last trip in February, after a 75 minute wait (no PS's accepted), we were seated and told by the waitress, "My advice is stick with appetizers tonight!" She was right! My shrimp and pasta had an unidentified cold orange goop poured over it that looked as if it was dredged from the lake.

The service was the best part. If you go, order appetizers at the bar. Then run out as fast as you can.

This was the worst restaurant we went to and will never go back. The food was bad and to top it off there was a "lady of the evening" making a business arrangement in the booth behind us. I thought I was hearing things at first, but it was VERY clear what was going on. We generally eat an early dinner, about 4:00-5:00pm and I was appalled and very glad that there weren't any kids in the restaurant at the time, there were only 5 other people there and they were just hanging out at the bar.

Wow, how depressing to find it's gone so far downhill. It's been about 5 years since we've eaten here and it was good the few times we did eat there, but as I said that was more than 5 years ago

TOO bad--too many other "good/great" places to go than to take a gamble on this one now!

This used to be an excellent restaurant and you had to wait to get into it. Now we only go for a quick lunch not dinner.

I would suggest, Narcoossees or Flying Fish if you want seafood.

I agree with the other posts, this restaurant has gone downhill - please find someplace else to dine!!!

Can you now just sit at the bar and have a drink and not have to eat a meal? For the longest time you could do this, then a few years back you had to order food. I have only eaten there a few times and none recently so can't comment about the quality of the food, but I miss being able to sit at the bar for a couple of drinks.

Yes. Just avoid meal times as it gets quite crowded and difficult to find a seat.

Unfortunately, I agree with everyone. We went last September. Luckily, I wasn't too hungry, so I only got a salad; however, the rest of my family got the seafood pasta and it was horrible (and expensive).

Usually I tell people to experience places and form your own opinion, because people always disagree about food quality so much on these boards; however, I think there is a pretty large consensus for Capn Jacks.

WDW has so many good restaraunts, so I would try to find something else! Good luck! (My suggestion is Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club... excellent steak and lobster!)

I ate here a week ago and confirm that the place is awful.

To my surprise, there are very few seafood items on the menu except appetizers. I got the seafood pasta and it just wasn't very good. Some of the appetizers looked interesting, but I won't be back.

Wow, I can't believe all the negative posts about Cap n Jacks! We've eaten lunch there the last 3 trips and have never had a problem! Now granted, we know how crowded it can get, so we eat an early lunch so we can get right in. But on that note, why is it always so crowded if the food is so bad?!?

We haven't had a bad meal there yet and until we do, we would recommend it. I think you need to try it for yourself and see.

Because there aren't many restaurants in the Marketplace section of DTD; and the lakeside location is pretty nice.

I think if you order something REALLY simple there's less chance the kitchen will screw up. If you order a few drinks, that'll help too

The last time we were in there was on a Friday afternoon in July - we were literally the only people in the restaurant.

I decided to eat lunch here Nov. 2003. I was seated at the bar, ordered an appetizer which was Spinach Dip and a drink. The drink was the best thing. They can't make Spinach Dip to save their souls, it was disgusting. I honestly can say that I have tried Disney's spinach dip in a few places and everytime can say that I have yet to find the spinach in the dip. There are plenty of artichokes, sauce and cheese but very little spinach. I wouldn't suggest the spinach dip appetizer. Oh, I forgot, I was on vacation and thought I would have the sp. dip, drink and decided to go with a dessert as well and ordered cheesecake that was very tasty.

We found it to be expensive and not very good. We would never go back. I agree with the other posters on this one. The only thing I can say that I liked was the salad and the biscuits they gave us.
