My 180s begins tomorrow and I'm all set to start my ADR @ 5AM CST online tomorrow. Earlier this year someone posted on here that Planet Hollywood was going to close Spring 2010. Is that true? We are going 06 SEP - 13 SEP and on our first night we plan on visiting the Disney Downtown area.

Narrowed down our choice of dinning to Cap'n Jack's or Planet Hollywood. Neither I would think are geared towards little ones (2 and 5) but then again the rest of the week will be for them. ;) So which one to choose?

We (me and DW) like seafood and burgers as well. Never been to either. But figure there are "other" PH elsewhere so perhaps Jack's?

Help & wish me luck in getting my ADRs tomorrow! Only have 5 to make and sure home I score on the Cindy Castle dinner one.

My family have been to both. If you are looking for more kid friendly, I'd say Planet Hollywood would be better, although its not like Cap'n Jack's is anti children. I would check out the menu's to both. I like Cap'n Jack's food better but if your just looking for burgers, Planet Hollywood is definately the go. Cap'n Jack's only has a few menu choices. I'm not sure whats on the menu for kids there though since we didn't have any kids with us. Planet Hollywood has a good atmosphere for kids because there is so much to look at.
Enjoy and good luck with your ADR's. Hope you get all the ones you want.

Honestly, I didn't like either. I think Wolfgang Puck's is much better. There is also Raglan Road. Earl of Sandwich is yummy too, although a counter service so no ressies needed. Check out the menus on all ears for the DTD places.

I suggest avoiding Planet Hollywood, especially with small children. The restaurant is so loud that it detracts from the meal. My family had trouble hearing each other talk sitting a few feet away across the table. We will never return, especially because the food is pretty mediocre.

Cap'n Jack's has a limited menu, but the food is good, especially for seafood lovers. It also has a child menu with basic fare for your kids.

I so agree with you!!

We tried Capt Jack's last week and had a great view of the water. The food was alright, nothing to go nuts about, but it was good and a decent portion. It wasn't really really loud either.

I didn't hear anything about Planet Hollywood closing down. I hope it isn't true. :scared1:

While Planet Hollywood can be loud, the atmosphere is fun. My family really enjoys going to Planet Hollywood in DTD.

In my opinion, I would avoid Wolfgang Puke (as we call it) at all costs. We had a meal there and it was awful. The service was great, but the food made my party of 4 feel ill. We didn't finish our meals and skipped dessert completely.

i had dinner at cap'n jacks for the first time this past october, and i was a little worried about what the food would be like after reading some not-so-great reviews. i was so pleasantly surprised by the food - it was one of the best meals of our trip (tied with boma and coral reef) of our entire trip. i had the penne alfredo with shrimp and everything about it was so delicious - perfectly cooked pasta, tender savory shrimp, and yummy sauce. i agree that they do have a limited menu (i assume there is a separate kid's menu) but everyone in our party ordered something different and everyone loved their food. i also happened to notice while i was there that there were a lot of families with kids. i really loved it there and would absolutely go back.

Unless things have changed, the food at Planet Hollywood is extremely nasty in my opinion. I def think the draw of that restaurant is totally the atmosphere.

Our family ate there last September and we loved every bite of it. The steaks were fabulous and my kids loved their food. Portions were huge. We would eat there every day if it was easier to get to. It was the best meal of our trip.
