Hi All,

I'm buried in snow here in NY...thinking of our August trip to Disney...

So I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions, comments, reviews etc on the following:

Cap'n Jacks...There's limited TS choices for DTD on DxDP..the last couple of years we considered Cap'n Jacks, but the menu didn't thrill me. Anyone have any experiences there - good??bad?? so-so???

La Hacienda San Angel: New Mexico restuarant...is it still very dark with the "volocano" setting as the prevous? The last time I went I couldn't see the menu or my food it was so dark and the food was just OK. The new menu looks more like tex-mex, somewhat psuedo Mexican...any thoughts?

Napoli: So far, the Italian fare in Disney is OK...nothing great. Where I'm from there are great pizzerias and Italian restuarants all around and Italian is one of my favorites...I wish Portobellos was on the dining plan - I would gladly use 2 credits. Anyway, is the new retaurant in Italy good? I'm thinking it might be better for a lunch then dinner. Is the pizza THAT good?

Oh...and I forgot....the restuarant in the Land Pavillion ( I'm drawing a blank now with the name - you know the revolving one). It's been a while since I've been there. The food choices don't thrill me, but it might be fun for my son (4). Is it better then the menu makes it sound?

Thanks for your input

It is way cheaper than Fulton's Crab House

La Hacienda San Angel is the New restaurant across from the temple on the lake, it opens at 5pm, well lit and you can watch illuminations reflections of earth, (make advance ressies), the dark one inside the pyramid is San Angel Inn

The Garden Grill, with Chip and Dale, it's ok, like you said you have been there done that, but son might love Chip & Dale

Thanks for your input

Have fun counting the days :)

We loved our dinner at La Hacienda in November, so much so we are repeating it on our May trip. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the Illuminations right out the window with the music chimed in is fantastic!

oh we made our reservation at 7:30.. when we checked in we asked for a window seat. They told us we could tell them when we actually got called for our table. Our buzzer went off we stepped inside and told them we would like to wait for a window seat. They said it would be a little bit longer, so we sat down inside on the 2 benches and within 20 minutes we had a window seat. Most seats have a view of the Illuminations show, but the area they were going to seat us in did not...so we waited.

The atmosphere for La Hacineda sounds wonderful...may be late thought booking for Illuminations as we have a 4 year old. But still the outside atmosphere and view still sounds enjoyable...How is the quality of food?

We loved the food. Ours was not to spicey although I have read reports of too much spice. We ordered the flank steak and loved the food!

This is what we ordered ~
Arrachera - flank steak with spring onions, tamal, cactus leaves, and beans $25.95

Our little boy loved watching the show out the window. If you want something different then to us this was it, exactly what we were looking for.

we ate at captain jacks this past sept. the food and service were both really good. i had the maga berry smoothie, pot roast, and the cheesecake. the post roast was wonderful and so was the cheesecake. my dd had the crabcakes. i cant remember what the others in my party had but we enjoyed it there. they even gave us a nice table by the water. i dont think you would be disappointed.
