We applied on-line it said we should hear from them within a month. Has anybody else applied on-line? If so how long before you heard anything. We want to make a deposit for a DCL and use that card to do it.

We just got the Bank One Disney Visa, didn't know Capitol One had one too. Do you get Disney rewards back? Anyway, I would go back to the site where you registered and find a phone number to give them a call. Last year we applied for AMEX in order to get a room discount. Not having a lot of time to get the deposit taken care, I called them and explained, they couldn't give me the number over the phone, but they shipped a card out overnight express to me. ~:D~

I am sorry it was Bank One. I guess I suffer from sometimers, sometimes I remember and other times I don't.

This is my experience with Bank One. Both me and DH applied online right when it started. I got a rejection letter about 6 weeks later, DH hasn't gotten anything. I've heard from others complaining that Bank One has some strict guidelines and people are being turned down when they have good credit. I'm assuming neither of us got the Bank One Disney Card but that's ok because last weekend we got the Universal Visa card, guess who's going to get my money on vacation?

You can call Bank One, there is an option for checking on pending applications.

Hope this helps.

Well they must not to eager for new customers. We get about 5 cc applications a week and most from Bank One. I guess time will tell.

I think that Disney sometimes may take customers for granted.

If you read all the posts on Bank One, compliments about them are rare. So probably just as well.
I never got around to trying for one.

I applied for one about a month ago through the DVC site, a paper from bank one arrived asking me for additional proof of identification? I have had many CC applications, but never been asked for this. Well, i sent them a copy of the stuff and wait to see if i get one. We have excellent credit and would like to use the 1% towards future disney cruises. If not Ill stick with my Southwest for free flights.

I applied on March 1st online. Got the card in the mail about two weeks later, but DH's didn't come--they had some sort of glitch. So I called and ordered one for him, and before you know it he got two of them in the mail within a couple days of each other.

I've already earned $30 in certificates just charging day-to-day stuff like groceries, the vet bill, gas, etc. :)

PS- Sometimes a person with good credit will get turned down because they had too many recent inquiries into their credit report by other lenders. So it's very likely that if you recently got a new card form another lender, you'll get turned down by Bank One. By law they have to send you a letter telling you why you were turned down, if it's because you had too many inquiries sometimes a letter telling them that no new credit was extended...or what new credit was extended will result in an approval.

I have had a SW Visa issued that I believe is issued by the same bank for years. NO problems. (I wish I could say that for Amex!) I did get a Disney Visa, but I don't know how much I will use it. (I must have wonderful credit, I got a SONY Visa today. All I have to do is activiate it, they try this about every 6 months and so far, I just tear them up!)

leslieh,

I am also required to provide additional identification if I apply for a new credit card but through my own doing.

I had to put a hawk alert or fraud alert on my credit report a while back after my wallet was lost. I did this for my own protection. So now any time I apply for credit the company is required to ask for additional identification. It really is rather useless because they usually ask to make a copy of my social security card. There is no way anyone is getting a copy of that unless absolutely necessary. This would just be inviting the very fraud I am trying to prevent.

Did you have to do anything similar to this?

You can also notify the credit bureaus and request that your name be removed from pre-screening offers. I get a copy of my credit report once a year and there must have been 30 different inquiries from various credit card companies who do a type of pre-screening before they extend an invitation for credit. I requested that they no longer be able to do this.

Every time someone's credit report is accessed it takes a few points off their credit score but some inquiries are grouped together. If you have 10 different mortgage companies check your credit report in given time period to get the best rate this will only show as one inquiry.

FYI, if you get turned down for the Disney Visa or any other forn of credit you will receive a letter and are able to obtain a copy of your credit report for free for 60 or 90 days. This is a good option for people wanting to check their credit report and/or credit score.

I have checked and I actually get very few pre-screenings. I have no idea why Sony Visa keeps trying. I figure I could contact them, but it hardly seems worth the effort. I actually think they are not going to do the credit check until I call since nothing has ever shown up on my credit report. Who knows?

A lot of credit offers you get are not as "preapproved" as you might imagine. That is especially true for the Home Equity offers, they don't appear to check until you say yes.

Some of the early posters to this thread have made comments that Disney must not want their money. Remember, Disney is not extending you credit with this card; it is BankOne and BankOne, not Disney, that decides who gets one using whatever method they use.

If you are turned down, Disney had nothing to do with that decision. If BankOne turned you down with good credit, there may be other reasons why they did. You should request a written explanation why you were turned down if you haven't received one and verify that their decision was made based on accurate, or inaccurate, information.

If you feel the rejection was not justified, you should write or call the credit approval department and ask to speak with a supervisor. Remember most customer service reps that answer the phone are not authorized to make decisions. You might find that BankOne had incorrect information or may have made a information entry error that can be corrected.

We applied on-line on a Sunday, we were called on a Wednesday to say that we were approved, and the cards came in the mail by the following week. So about 10 days after submitting, we had the cards in hand.

I don't know what their system is. but I applied thinking that I would not be approved. I just turned 21 and got my first credit card in November. I must have been lucky or something. I'm glad that I got approved and I am going to use the points for our marathon trip next January.
