I need some help from veteran WDW diners. I'm pretty set on our dining plans for all but our last evening in October except the last dinner. I've tried to read as many reviews as possible but I'd like to ask your thoughts on whether I should book Cape May or Grand Floridian for our last evening. I'm travelling with my DH and 2 DD (7 & 9). I know Cape May is buffet but have read some very positive feedback on it. I'm trying to stick to a resort location so we're not committed to any particular park that day. All input is appreciated, good and bad for both venues. TIA

Never been to the Grand but I think your family will like Cape May.
There is something for everyone. If you are at Epcot you can get to Cape May by boat or it's a 10-15 minute walk. From DHS you can also take a boat to get there or take a 20-25 minute walk.

Are you on the dining plan??

If you are on the dining plan, IMO, do Cape May. It is pretty expensive for a buffet because of the all you can eat crab legs. Definitely better for your money on the dining plan.

Not on the dining plan do Grand Floridian Cafe. It is less expensive than other restaurants and their desserts are all tiny so if you decide to get dessert it is only $3-$4. I reviewed both Grand Floridian Cafe and Cape May in my review if you would like to review.

If you can't decide maybe try Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch one other day. They do serve lunch there and it will be relatively inexpensive.

Yes, we are planning on adding the dining plan. We all like seafood but do the kids have to eat from a different buffet? I just read your dining review and I thank you very much for taking the time to write it.
With 2 votes, both for Cape May, my decision is made: Cape May it is. Thanks to both for your imput.

Which Grand Floridian restuarant are you thinking of? If it's 1900 PF, I say go for that since you have 2 DD's and there are characters there, If not, then Cape May.

I love both restaurants, but Grand Floridian Cafe is one I'll not miss again. Wonderful steaks, the best potatoes on property and roasted corn. We share the dessert sampler for 2 on the dining plan. I don't leave anywhere so full.

I am not a fan of buffet's at all; the food is less than average IMHO and fails in most cases to measure up to one where you order off a menu. If you are a huge crab leg fan then go to Cape May. But from my experience the rest of the buffet is like any other (except Boma), it just fails to be all that great. I enjoyed the Grand Floridian Cafe much better than I did Cape May. ;)

You didn't say where you would eat at the gf. Their rest are nice sit down. The BC is a buffet been to both. The BC more informal food more of a choice. The fg sit down and a menu. Both are nice try both maybe one this time.

I think you made a great choice :thumbsup2. Cape May is a favorite of ours.....we eat there at least once every trip.....the buffet, IMO, is awesome with alot of variety ;). Also, kids do not have to eat from a different buffet. They do have a childrens buffet with mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, etc., but kids are allowed to eat anything, whether it's from the kids section, the regular buffet, or both :).

Go for Cape May. :thumbsup2 You can walk around the Epcot resorts and have a great meal! Can't wait to go there in August!!! :cool1:

Thank you to all for your input. I may just take a couple of you up on your suggestion to try both. Maybe a lunch at GF cafe. Was not going to do the 1900 PF as we have booked Tusker House breakfast and Akershus for lunch, giving us 2 character dining experiences.
