ADRs go in on Friday, and I'm down to one final choice:

Cape May Seafood Buffet or dinner at Chefs of France. (oops, tried to post a poll, but messed it up.)

Here's the outline of my family:
me: pretty budget conscious, and we're NOT on DDP this time around. I'll eat anything. I love seafood, love chicken... I'm pretty easy when it comes to food.

my husband: money is less of a consideration (within reason of course) but figures we're on vacation. Loves seafood, particularly crablegs.

my son : not a big seafood fan, but loves steak and ribs

my older daughter : the picky eater. Loves ribs, chicken nuggets or cutlets, pizza, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes

my younger daughter: adores typical "kids menu" fare-- mac and cheese, pizza, chicken nuggets.

We'll enjoy it whichever we choose, but I would love some input from anyone who has been there; we've never been to either one.

I've never been to Les Chefs de France, but have been to Cape May Cafe a few times. Cape May is a real treat for us because we never make crab legs at home. Yes, it is a little expensive, but worth it IMO. The other items on the buffet are very good too. They do have chicken and ribs (my daughter loved the ribs), mac and cheese, pizza, soup, salad, carved beef etc. From my experience it seems like there would be something for everyone in your family.

I highly recommend Cape May. We've eaten there twice in the past two years, and it's now on our must-do list every trip. Especially if you like snow crab legs and steamed clams, it's an enjoyable all-you-can-eat clambake. Plus, it's a convenient five-minute walk from the World Showcase exit to the Beach Club. There are BBQ ribs, mac and cheese, pizza, pasta, chicken nuggets and fries for the kids. Then there are the all-you-can-eat crab legs, steamed clams, corn on the cob, and lots of interesting salads and side dishes for the adults (olive salad, tomato mozz., caesar, tossed, etc.)

Haven't been to Chefs de France since 2009, but when we were there, we were very underwhelmed by the quality of the food. The restaurant was packed, tables are crammed together, and you feel rushed.

I have never been to Chefs de France, I am trying it for the first time in September. I love the Cape May Clambake! It is by far the best buffet at WDW! Everything on the buffet is good, they also have a big variety. The crab legs were very good, we are big seafood lovers, but they have alot to choose from that isn't seafood as well. It is well worth the price. I would definitly give it a try!:)

We ate at both in December. Cape May was our best table service dining experience and Les Chefs de France was the worst. The variety and quality of the food at Cape May is impressive. My 10 y/o son and I thought that the oysters and mussels were the best things that we ate at WDW. At Les Chefs, my salmon was not up to Red Lobster quality and my wife had better chicken at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. We didn't even see Remy!

we went to Cape May for dinner on trip last March, and it was the biggest disappointment of the trip. The crab legs were overcooked, and the the rest of the buffet was just "ok"..... except for the desserts... those were REALLY good! Most people on this board love it, but we won't be going back there.

Chefs de France is a MUST do for us every trip. We have only been for lunch, but we really enjoy it.

Good luck with your choice.

Cape May!

For your family, Cape May will be a great place. Everyone will like/love something special on the buffet.

Try the flan for dessert - it's heaven.

We went to Cape May last Sept.... I absolutely, LOVED it!! The crab legs were awesome... much better than other buffet's crab legs. The biggest drawback for us was the transportation to and from the restaurant to our resort.

Another vote for cape may here. If your husband loves crab legs he will be in heaven, all you can eat. Buffet is diverse so there are plenty of options to satisfy everyone.
We also enjoyed les chefs but I think there is less of a chance of everyone in your group being happy. My DD got the Mac and cheese. While it was delicious it was nothing like traditional Mac and cheese. I also agree les chefs was louder and tables close.
Desserts better ar les chefs thou
Hope you have a great trip

What type of atmosphere are you looking for? I've eaten at both, and Cape May was a much more casual, relaxed family-friendly place. The buffet has something for everyone. We actually thought Chefs was a little too stuffy for our family, and our server was very formal & dry.

Our family loves Chefs and never miss it. We like Cape May but it is more of an every alternate trip thing for us.

However, based on your family profile I would definitely say Cape May.

Great ribs for your son, mashed potatoes for your daughter and crabs legs for anyone up to the effort of eating them.
