Cape May Resort Clam Bake?

What are your experiences with the clam bake buffet at CMR? We are eating with friends and their kids that night (so 8 of us), and while we have a reservation at Chef Mickey's, they are thinking about eating earlier and I can't get CM at an earlier time - but I can get the Clam Bake. We really want a character buffet - but non-park since they aren't doing the parks that day.

What characters are usually there? How is the food? And finally, what's the easiest way to get to Cape May Resort from MK where we will be that afternoon?

There are no characters at the Clam Bake they are at breakfast. The restaurant is very easy to get to from Epcot. Walk out the back entrance near world showcase keep going straight you will see the Beach Club the Clam Bake is right off the lobby. You can also take the boat but that is very slow the walk is maybe 5 minutes.

The Clam Bake is not a character meal. Cape May Cafe hosts Goofy's Beach Party character breakfast, but dinner is a non-character buffet. The food is really good. We ate there for the first time in October and were very pleasantly surprised at how fresh and good the food was. We enjoyed it so much that I'm taking my sister there when we go in March.

The only other resort character dinner that I can think of besides CM is 1900 Park Fare in the GF. It's Cinderella & company, so if you have boys, that may not be an option for you.

Thanks so much - no idea why I thought the clam bake was a character meal, must have been thinking breakfast. I'll check out 1900 Park Fare, I forgot about that one. There is one boy with us, but two little girls who I know would appreciate it and I know their older brother would 'take one for the team' he's fantastic!

I went there this year for the first time, we loved it. We thought that the food was really good and that there was a great selection for everyone. My husband isn't a huge seafood fan so he liked the ribs and such. There was also plenty to eat for my 20 month old! He enjoyed it too.

We have dined there about 6 times and it is always fantastic, not alot of seafood but tons of other foods and they are all great!

There is plenty of seafood: cold shrimp, steamed clams and mussels, crab legs, fried fish, clam chowder and a seafood pasta salad......

The easiest way to the Cape May Clam Bake, if you decide to go, would be to take the YC/BC bus from the MK. Get off at the BC and walk right through the lobby to the restaurant. It is very easy.
