How far is it to walk from Epcot to the Beach Club to dine at Cape May? In your opinions, is the dinner buffet pretty good, and worth walking to? Never been there before and thought we'd try something new. We are on the dining plan. Thanks for your opinions!

Thanks, Bob! Ooops, yes I saw that thread after I had already posted my questions. I'm hoping my legs will hold out after walking all day to walk to Cape May, LOL  Anyone else's comments about the Cape May restaurant are still welcome!

The walk from the Epcot International Gateway to the Beach Club is about five minutes. Save your legs by taking the path on the left closest to the water as you leave Epcot. The main path has an incline which is tiring after so much walking at Epcot.
The Clam Bake is fantastic. So much to choose from. One side is dedicated to seafood. Another side has meats. Another has salads and another the children's selections. Something for everyone! They also have wonderful desserts.
Always a MUST on every trip for us.

Dine at Le Cellier instead!!!!--awsome Prime Rib. When we went to the Cape May Buffet this past January--yuck!!! Beef they were serving-if you can call it that was small and overdone. Ribs were gross--overdone and rubbery. Service was mediocre. Two of us got sick later that we attributed to this meal. We had a great meal the trip prior to this. I would not chance it again though--as there are so many other great places to eat in WDW.

It's more like a quarter-mile from International Gate to the Beach Club lobby.

We've eaten several times at Cape May and enjoyed it each time. Don't expect an authentic clambake (it isn't) or freshly prepared quality seafood (it IS a buffet!), but there's plenty of good things to choose from. In particular I think Cape May has the best desserts of any WDW buffet (including Boma).

The "prime rib" carving station is somewhat disappointing, mostly because they call it prime rib when it's really just roast beef.

LeCellier is an excellent restaurant, and there are several other good alternatives in World Showcase. But if you want to try Cape May, go right ahead!

We've been many times and we love it. Just went two weeks ago. The walk, as others have said, is not bad at all. I have to say this and believe me I am not one to say anything bad (I never do reviews or anything), but we ate in LeCellier this trip also and found the prime rib to be of not-so-great quality. We've been going there for years, in fact since it was a cafeteria style restaurant and have always had great meals, but this time, for the first time we were all disappointed. Cape May was great, but our server was not the best. I am posting all of this to show that you don't really know from trip to trip how each restaurant is going to be. We ate in both places on our last trip and had great meals and servers. If you have never been to Cape May I think you will enjoy it. It's a nice walk from Epcot and it will give you a chance to explore the beach club for a possible future stay.

ENJOY!!

We always hit Cape May when our kids are in the Sandcastle Club and then walk over to Epcot. Disappointed now that our oldest is too old to be there, so no more Parents Night Out!

We walk it just about every time. It's not too bad, and it's a great opportunity to walk that dinner off if you're going back to Epcot!
Personally, my family loves that restaurant, definitely worth going to.

We love Cape May and visit on every trip. The walk is an easy 5 minutes and it is definitely worth it. After you eat, you can check out the Boardwalk.

We love it ! Both the seafood and non-seafood choices are delicious. Maybe the best chowder ever.

We go at least once a trip, sometimes twice if there are friends there for part of the stay and they want to go.

I can live with lousy beef/ribs/chicken at a seafood buffet since I won't be going near them. How was the seafood?

We were just there on Sunday night, the last time we were there was 2003. I had forgotten how disappointing this buffet is and I will never do it again. The seafood consists of miniscule shrimp, mussels & clams. You have to take a huge portion to get any food. The beef was as described above. There was a nice salmon dish and some kind of chicken that I did not taste. I ate one rib and had to stop bc it was so greasy. Kids food was mac n cheese, the ubiquitous chicken fingers, and mini hot dogs. There was a nice salad bar and way over-dressed caesar salad. The chowder was very very salty. My DD is now 11 and so we have to pay full price for her (and she ate 3 bites of salad, mashed potatoes, a piece of salmon and dessert), so the bill came to about $100 before gratuity for 3 of us - and we did not have any drinks, not even soda. It was NOT worth it. We ate at Spoodles the night before and had a much nicer meal with wine & apps in a much nicer environment for about the same price. And our meal at California Grill only came to $150, so for my money, I'd eat at an a la carte restaurant and spend a little more and get excellent food.
