Cape May or Garden Grill for breakfast? My window opens tomorrow!

First timer to WDW. We only have 2 nights and one full day so we are doing Epcot for our full day. We will have a rental car.

My ADR window opens tomorrow. Should I go for a Cape May ressie for before the park opens (it opens at 9am so go for an 8am ressie?) or do a late Garden Grill ressie (I think 10:30 is the latest?), make it more like brunch (grab a quick small bite to eat at our hotel to tide us over) and get to Epcot for rope drop?

Do we park in the same lot no matter if we are doing Cape May for breakfast or heading straight to Epcot? Sorry if these are silly questions but I'm trying to get my head around just how huge the WDW property is, I'm used to Disneyland where you take 20 steps outside the gate and you're at the California Adventure gate! And your car stays parked at the hotel because everything is within walking distance!

I would choose an 8am (pre park) Garden Grill reservation. Great food, great characters and you can walk ride down to Soarin.

So I'm assuming if you have a ressie for before the park opens there is a special gate you enter through?

There are CMs checking reservations by a gate. You can't miss them once you get there.

I also vote for GG. Cape May was the worst character interaction we've ever had. It's the only restaurant we will never go back to again. GGs food is good, and the characters are great. Plus you get different characters than at most other meals (Chip & Dale)

Thanks! Looks like Garden Grill before the park opens is our best bet :flower1:

I think Garden Grill PPO is a great idea! We ate at both GG and Cape May Cafe for breakfast a few weeks ago and liked GG more. There is nothing wrong with CMC, we just enjoyed GG more.

We did a pre-park opening Garden Grill reservation on our most recent trip and it was perfect. This was before Soarin', Frozen Ever After, or the Royal Sommerhus were open, so mind you, it was significantly less crazy. The food was SO good and the character interactions were great - unlike other character meals, the characters come to your table multiple times. Chip and Dale are very cute and funny!

Our ADR was at 8:10 and we were out by 8:50 and in line to meet Joy and Sadness (my DD saw them on the app and make a last minute decision to go see them - luckily, we got done with breakfast in time to avoid a long line!) I also just listened to a podcast by Shannon from WDW Prep School in which she had a PPO breakfast at Garden Grill and then the CMs brought them all down to Soarin' to be the first ride of the day. Maybe you'll get lucky like her!

(Disclaimer: I have never been to Cape May and I'm sure it's great. GG is our new favorite, though!)
