Are these places worth our time? My sister loves seafood. This is her first trip to Disney since she was 12 she is now 34. I am so excited for her to see and try everything. Are these worth taking her to? Food portions?? Taste??? Atmosphere??? Anyone have any pictures of the seafood (lobster and crablegs)?
Thank you all for your help!!

Happy New Year!!!

We visited Fulton's in April 2011 and found it be extremely overpriced for what you get. I'm from Maryland so we know seafood and i didn't think what they served was anything special.

The Cape May buffet had some good choices although it is a buffet and it's all about how often they replace the food....seafood doesn't do well being heated and reheated.:)

Cape May, it - I don't have pictures, but they have the best clam chowder and crab legs, fried shrimp certain nights, and many other seafood and non-seafood dishes. The desserts are very yummy. It is a buffet, but from our experiences, they seem to keep everything clean and fresh. It is definitely a must once, (sometimes twice) on each trip. We've never had, nor heard, complaints there, only on this board for some reason. We have always heard positive comments from everyone we talk to there :yay:.

gncntry, don't know when you would have been at Cape May, but we have gone many times and the seafood goes very fast and have never seen them reheat any of it once, let alone several times :confused3 .

Never been to Fultons..but Cape May is awesome. :yay:
We love the buffet..it has good seafood and a good selection of non seafood choices.
Cape May is one of our must do places every year.
Enjoy!

Cape May is a great choice! What there is of seafood seemed fresh and the other options on the buffet were very tasty too!! The salads were among the best from a buffet in all of Disney...MMMM

We ate at Fulton's a few years back, not good IMO. My scallops looked funny and the waitress told me thats how they were supposed to look. I ate them (looking back, should have went with my instinct), and was sick as a dog that night. Not to mention the bill was over $250 for 4 people. Of course, it could have just been a new cook, or whatever, but I will never eat there again.

I have never been to Cape May, so I can't give you a review of that!

We did have good seafood last year at Coral Reef. It is way overpriced as well, but it looked and tasted great and I didn't get sick ;)

We ate at Fulton's and Coral Reef this past May and really enjoyed both, there were 5 of us at Fulton's (BIL/SIL were at V & A's) and all 7 at Coral Reef. Fultons was really good. Weird to say for a seafood restaurant but they had the BEST mashed potatoes! LOL. It was really pricey, it is on the dining plan for next year at 2 credits. I have a few pics but they are not of crab legs or lobster. :)

Coral Reef may be a good choice for you, it is definitely cheaper, even on the DDP it's just 1 credit.

Cape May is an absolute must do for us every trip. Its getting harder to get an ADR sometimes, so it seems that its no longer a hidden gem. The food has always fresh, and we have been there at a variety of times from around 6PM to after 9PM. Sometimes the crab legs are a little over cooked, but seeing as they are cooking vast amounts at the same time, thats to be expected. they have great salads and as someone already mentioned, the clam chowder is terrific.
You will see some people complaining about Cape May, but thats ok, they won't be taking up a table.

When I made my ADRs for our last trip, I made a reservation at Cape May. As we got closer to our departure, I had the same questions that you do about the quality of the seafood on the buffet and seriously considered canceling the reservation for something else. I posted the question on here and was convinced to give it a try by almost everyone that posted. Am I glad that I took their advice!!! We ate there our first night and LOVED it!! It was our favorite meal of our 11 night vacation and we ended up canceling another reservation so that we could go again on our last night in Disney. Food was varied and fresh with some items that you don't often see on a seafood buffet. The restaurant was bright and cheery. The desserts, especially the key lime tarts and the oreo bon bons, were awesome. After dinner, we went for a walk on the boardwalk, which was beautiful at night. Cape May is on our "for sure" list for our next trip!

We've been to both of these restaurants. You can't compare them to each other as one is a buffet and the other a nice table service restaurant.

We had great experiences at both restaurants so you won't go wrong at either one. We've also been to Coral Reef and were pleasantly surprised there as we had heard some negatives reviews about it but it was very good!

Now I've heard if you're a real seafood lover - the place to go is the Flying Fish Cafe... haven't been there yet though! It's on 'the list.' :)

Cape May cafe has brought some of the best experiences for my family and the worst. The first time we tried it we ate there at the opening of the restaurant got good seats and had a very good time. Also the food was delicous! We ate at cape may 2 times since then at around 7:00 and 7:30, but it was a very different experience. We were seated in a weird side room making it feel like you weren't able to sit in the restaurant atmosphere, or see if there is fresh food put out. Last week we ate here and they weren't keeping up with demand, the food kept running out. So if you would like to eat at Cape May I would recommend an early seating. We never tried Fulton's but they look delicious.

Thank you all very much!! I have managed to convince my sister to add 3 more days to her trip. So now we are going to go to Both Fultons and Cape May. We already had Coral Reef on our list (my family loves it). This will be her once in a life time trip to Disney with her son (his first trip). Single mom. I am so excited that they are going with us this year. I want her trip to be Magical. I would love for her to feel the true Disney Magic that we all know and love.
