Well I had originally made ADR's for Planet Hollywood (which I enjoy) for the Friday night we will be down there since I figure we can head to the clubs after walking DTD---but I want to be brave and try something new...So I cancelled and made ADR's @ Cape May since the buffet looked great . We are both big seafood eaters so that is a plus...

Anyone thoughts? Reviews for me? I am a New England girl (Maine LOBSTERS BABY!) so Seafood being my main focus on this place may NOT be such a good idea. lol

DD and I did the Cape May buffet in February, and we thought it good. That being said - many many folks who are from NE, and seafood experts will probably say that it is not worth it.

DD9 loves steamed clams, and the night we were there they were very good. There were many other selections on the buffet besides seafood, which were very good. I remember enjoying the ribs and chicken. She absolutely loved the Oreo Bon Bons on the dessert buffet, and if you ask her the clams and bon bons were worth the price of admission (with mom paying the bill!!!)

We were full when we left, and not disappointed in the food. DD and I are doing this again with a friend who is visiting later this month, so we will see what another adult has to say and what my opinion is the second time around, now that I have experienced it once!

We are not a large party (just the two of us) and she is still under children's pricing, that along with our DDE card makes the meals not quite so expensive, so maybe my expectations aren't quite as high!!!! We enjoyed the experience!

I like the Cape May Buffet. I am from the Eastern Shore area (MD and VA) and also am used to superior seafood. This is not it. Oh, the clams were fine when we went but it is not like New England or anything. And it is a buffet. That said, we really enjoy the variety on this buffet.

Our family is seafoody, too (except for poor DW, who tolerates the rest of us.) Down here in the Gulf South, most of what we get is fried, sometimes broiled. So clams and mussels are a treat for us. I'm guessing that it won't compare to what you can get locally. There are plenty of things for landlubbers on the buffet, which turns over often and is very fresh, but I'd hate for you to be disappointed.

I truly WISH my DH would eat seafood. (Well he eats fish/chips but will pick all the batter off---doesn't like it) I would really love to go here. I LOVE seafood (my fave) New England gal here too!!! ALthough I did hear that they have chicken too, maybe I"ll have to take a peek at the menu and make a ressie there. Gonna go check!!!

Michelle, eat seafood at home. Go to Disney for other stuff. :)

Seriously, Cape May will be the biggest disappointment of any Bay Stater's trip... If you really must have seafood, aim for Flying Fish, across Crescent Lake.

I have eaten at Cape May Cafe several times and really enjoyed it. Yes, there is better seafood at other restaurants, but I have no complaints about Cape May Cafe.
