Hello all!
Has anyone either been to Cape May recently or has any opinions on dinner there? My brother LOVES seafood so I thought it might be a good place for him. I love buffets (unlimited dessert anyone?!) but walking by Cape May I've never found the aroma to be particularly appetizing. I can eat white fish and salmon if it's not too fishy (ie drowned in sauce). Just wondering how good this place is and if it's worth going to or if it's passable.
Thanks!

Not sure if this will help. Apparently it was updated in Jan 2017.

From what I heard, there's enough for non-seafood lovers. If your brother loves seafood that much, then maybe it'll be worth trying. Im with you though, I dont eat shellfish (only white fish or salmon). I too dont like the smell at cape may. But i think once youre there you get use to it?

We went to Cape May for the first time this past August. I despise seafood. But I thought there was a great variety of other dishes and I loved it! I agree with the smell though. I avoided that area around that restaurant when I stayed at the BC. Very off putting.

I don't eat any seafood and my husband does-I love Cape may! They have lots of things for me to eat-the steak, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are delicious. We were making our list for our next trip this summer and Cape may made the list for us all.My kids love it too!

I haven't been in 3 years but last time we went my parents really wanted to eat here and I put up a bit of a fight because I'm not a seafood person at all... But they convinced me to give it a go. While I don't remember it being the greatest meal ever and considering I don't remember much of it I guess that makes sense. But there was definitely plenty for me to eat!

My mom is not a huge seafood person but we eat here at least twice every trip because my brother loves it and we stay at BC (I love it, too, but it's definitely his favorite place). She always finds plenty to eat that isn't seafood.

We went last year, it is always on our list of favorites. My daughter and her family love the crab legs! I do not eat much if any seafood, but there are plenty of very delicious foods for folks who don't eat seafood. The little desserts are delicious, just so many different selections. You really can't go wrong, in my opinion.

I am not a big seafood lover either, except for shrimp. We only go to Cape May for my dh to get his crab leg fix.

I usually have the salad, rolls, chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese. Also this time they had ribs on the buffet which were really good. (these are not in the rotation each night). Also they usually have a pasta dish that is usually good. They also have chef carved beef roast. Sometimes the non seafood soup is good too.

I don't find enough to eat.....used to, but not anymore.
I don't eat mac and cheese, bread or potatoes. That didn't leave much.
I won't be going back.
Last meal there was Jan. 2017 because I was traveling with wanted to try it

I do not eat seafood, but my DH loves it, and we ate there last week. The steak was really good and they had a chicken and mushroom dish. The antipasto salad was good too. It did smell very seafoody, but the key lime dessert was really good.

@ariane37 did a great review of it as a non seafood lover on the reviews section. I am not sure if it is early in her latest or an earlier review.
Hi! Yes, DS and I went for the first time last Nov. and neither of us like seafood. I booked it b/c originally older DS and DH were supposed to be with us and they do like seafood but plans changed, however younger DS still wanted to try it. Well, DS ate his weight in ribs lol and we both loved the steak. They also had lots of delicious salads in addition to the other non-seafood dishes pp's have mentioned. We both had more than enough to eat and the desserts were delicious!

Thanks everyone! Sounds like it's worth a try! I used to go to Beaches and Cream and lot and always tried to avoid walking by there lol. I'm sure I'll stop noticing the fishyness once I'm eating. Thanks for all the feedback!
:thanks:

There is plenty. I'm a big seafood fan and I love the place. My wife is not huge into seafood and found tons of things to eat as well. I'd recommend it.

We found Cape May very, very mediocre, both the seafood and the non-seafood options. Several folks in the family really like seafood but didn't like any of the seafood at Cape May. The crab legs were the best but were hit or miss -- all were small and didn't yield a lot of meat and some were cold. Our two sons don't enjoy seafood and didn't find anything there that they liked. We ended up taking them to a QS place after Cape May so they could have dinner. We haven't been back since. There are many better options at Disney. If looking for a buffet I'd go to Boma or 'Ohana (though not technically a buffet).

Wow, I haven't heard a lot of negative reviews, so I thought it would be a good place to take them. When did you go?

2 years ago. I think that a lot of people like it but we weren't impressed at all. You'll occasionally see people with the same complaints we had about the crab legs (they really are small) and the quality of the non-seafood food.

We consider Cape May a place to stay away from -- from the odor to the stale food quality.
